Arlene Christine Denzer, aged 88, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday November 22, 2021.
Arlene was born April 4, 1933 to William and Elsie Koller. She married Leroy Denzer on April 7, 1951. The couple farmed for a number of years in the Hager City area where they raised their three children. In 1967 they built a home and moved outside of Ellsworth. During the years her children participated in 4-H, Arlene served as Project Leader in foods and Nutrition for the Big River Hustlers 4-H Club. Arlene also worked at the Ellsworth Manor and operated an inhome Day Care for a few years. Over the years Arlene enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling, drawing, and painting, playing cards, doing jigsaw puzzles, playing Yahtzee and bird- watching. She especially loved traveling and was able to visit many states as well as Canada. Her favorite destination was always Arizona! In her later years Arlene loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren celebrating all the holidays, birthday parties and numerous family gatherings. Arlene is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Leroy, daughters Debby (Chuck) Foy and Lori (Steve) Arndt. Grandchildren Matt Kelly) Arndt, Mandy (Frank) Fleming, Desi (Jasmine) Foy, Jordy Foy (Anna Mladnik) and 10 great grandchildren. Avery, Colin, Chase, Liam, Oliver, Emma, Archer, Lain, Chloe and Elsie. She is also survived by her brother Raymond and sister- in-law Joyce Koller and brother-in-law Jack Denzer. Arlene is preceded in death by her parents. Bill and Elsie Koller, parents-in-law John and Marie Denzer, son Leroy Jr. and pre-born daughter Karen, sisters Marcella, Ann, and Donna, brother-in-law Jacob Appelhans sister and brother-in-law Marjorie and Allen Yanisch and sister-inlaw Marlys Denzer.
Funeral services will be held at St. Mary’s Church Big River, River Falls, WI on Friday, January 14, 2022, at 11:00 am. A reception and lunch will be held at the school following the services.
