Ellsworth’s first

state title game appearance in 30

years: The number two moment of the 2021 sports season was the Ellsworth Panthers’ appearance in the WIAA Division 4 state football championship game. Despite losing in the title game 21-12 to Catholic Memorial on Thursday, Nov. 18, the 2021 iteration of the Ellsworth Panthers football team is likely the best in school history. The 2021 Panthers shattered every offensive record imaginable in Ellsworth history and not only finished the regular season undefeated but was undefeated heading into the state title game with a 12-0 record. The play of seniors Jack Janke, Max Grand and Ashten Quade will be remembered for decades to come and so will the state title game against a private school from the greater Milwaukee area.
