ELLSWORTH Police Department Reports

The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department May 2-8.

Monday, May 2

Ovcers responded at 9:47 p.m. to 325 W. Main St. where a woman fell and hit her head. She was conscious but not responding. Police assisted EMS as needed.

A caller requested a welfare check at 8:36 p.m. at 185 Evergreen Estates because they heard screaming. The resident said the screaming was coming from a fussy baby.

Tuesday, May 3

Police performed a welfare check at 11:56 a.m. at 185 Evergreen Estates. A caller reported a child screaming “abnormally.” The mother said the child was screaming for attention while she was caring for an infant.

A resident reported a property line dispute at 12:14 p.m. at 220 S. Chestnut St. The resident said a neighbor has miscellaneous items stored next to a garage, which is on his property. He was informed the issue is a civil matter.

Ovcers performed a wel fare check at 5:07 p.m. at 191 Evergreen Estates due to a concerning social media message. No one came to the door.

A dog bite was investigated at 8:06 p.m. at 213 W. Summit Ave. Paperwork was completed.

Wednesday, May 4

Police investigated a possible fire report at 6:22 a.m. at W7328 Highway 10.

Smoke was coming from an outdoor wood burner.

Ovcers were called at 4:38 p.m. to Ellsworth Middle School (312 Panther Drive) where a student allegedly hit another student.

Jennifer Hall, 34, Ellsworth, was cited for dog-atlarge at 8:36 p.m. in the 300 block of West Woodworth Street. An ovcer saw a ju venile crossing the street on a skateboard at a fast pace, not checking for travc. The juvenile said she was trying to get away from the dog that was chasing her. Travc was able to avoid the juvenile. Thursday, May 5

Ovcers responded to a minor two-vehicle crash at 10:25 a.m. at 176 W. Main St. between Susan Kealy, 71, Brooklyn Park, Minn., and Brent Langer, 59, Ellsworth. Kealy backed into Langer’s vehicle. The two parties exchanged information.

At 2:11 p.m., police received a report of a 3-yearold child riding a scooter down the middle of Highway 65 near Crosstown Road. A driver stopped and got the child to the side of the road.

Another driver stopped and recognized the child and called his mother. The mother told police they had been outside tending their animals when the child disappeared.

She had been walking the neighborhood looking for him and had started driving around to find him when the neighbor called with his whereabouts.

Kevin Melstrom, 57, Ellsworth, was cited for operating motor vehicle without proof of insurance after a travc stop for a defective driver’s side tail light at 9:16 p.m. at Maple and Grove streets.

Friday, May 6

Police were called at 11:28 a.m. to Ellsworth High School (323 Hillcrest St.) for a student in possession of an electronic smoking device. The student said older kids buy them for the younger kids. The student was cited by mail for possession of an e-cig/underage.

A juvenile driver was cit ed for possession of THC and possess drug parapher- nalia after a travc stop at 5:34 p.m. at Ellsworth High School (323 Hillcrest St.) for the vehicle’s occupants not wearing seat belts. The vehicle also had no license plates.

The vehicle’s occupants were also cited for failure to wear seat belts.

Saturday, May 7 Nomar Palomino, 42, Ellsworth, was arrested for disorderly conduct at 12:22 a.m. at 404 W. High Point Drive when police responded for a verbal argument. A person there had video of Palomino shirtless, circling them aggressively.

A caller reported his walker had been stolen at 6:31 a.m. at 246 N. Broadway St. A suspect allowed police to search her home, but the walker was not located.

Mitchell Glover, 29, Andover, Minn., was cited for failure to obey travc light after a running a red light at 8:16 p.m. at Main and Maple streets.

At 9:18 p.m., a resident at 404 High Point Drive reported vandalism. An outdoor chair had been broken in half. A suspect was named but the complainant didn’t want the matter pursued.

A caller reported a suspicious man walking and talking to himself at 10:07 p.m. in the 100 block of East Main Street. Police made contact with him, and he said he was just walking home and declined assistance.

Sunday, May 8 Charmain Weiss, 27, Ellsworth, was cited for dogat- large in the 900 block of Hilden Drive. Six previous incidents had been reported before the citation was issued.

Ovcers and EMS re sponded at 3:56 p.m. to N331 Railroad Ave. for a 52-year- old man who fell ou a skate board and possibly broke his leg.
