RF Area Retired Educators Association, 11 a.m. at St. Croix Lanes (1153 St. Croix St., River Falls). RF Area REA works to preserve the pension fund and excellence in public education. Anyone who is part of the state pension fund is welcome to attend. The guest speaker will be Jayne Hoffman, who talk about RF history. Lunch can be ordered after the meeting.

Saturday, May 14 EHS Dance Team Meat Raffle, 3 p.m., Sabe’s Loft (W6390 State Highway 35, Bay City). Victory Fireworks will donate fireworks with each meat package. The dance team is a fully selffunded team without an athletic budget from the school. Fundraising efforts offset costs for dance families for uniforms, costumes, competition fees and more. Ellsworth Community School District welcomes Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation who will help parents uncover mysteries in the lives of teens. Trained prevention specialists will guide parents through the model of a teen’s bedroom and show them how to identify items and cues that may signal alcohol or drug use or other behavioral health concerns. Locust St.) meeting room. Forensic genealogist Charles McGee will speak about the Polk County (Oregon) Jane Doe cold case that he helped solve using DNA. On Sept. 1, 1996, the partial remains of a Jane Doe were found by hunters near an old logging road 20 miles west of Salem, Ore. New advances in DNA analysis and genetic genealogy helped solve the case and bring the killer to justice.
