Gov. Evers approves WIS 29/35 resurfacing project in River Falls

Work includes modifying Emory Circle intersection and South Wasson Lane roundabout

To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Gov. Tony Evers has signed a $1.28 million contract with prime contractor Monarch Paving Co. of Amery for a resurfacing project on WIS 29/35 (Cemetery Road) from Main Street to WIS 65 in River Falls. Construction is scheduled to start Tuesday, June 14.

The pavement on this segment of WIS 29/35 is showing signs of deterioration. To address this, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation plans to: Remove a portion of the existing asphalt pavement and place new asphalt.

Modify the Emory Circle intersection to a right-out only from Emery Circle onto WIS 29/35.

Modify the southwest quadrant of the South Wasson Lane roundabout to better accommodate trucks.

Remove existing guardrail.

Construct new curb ramps, curb and gutter and sidewalk.

Install pavement marking. During construction, WIS 29/35 will remain open to travc, but motorists will encounter daytime single-lane closures controlled by flagging.
