The following incidents were reported to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office July 25 through Aug. 1.

Monday, July 25

Officers saw a vehicle driving on the shoulder and in the ditch at 11:22 a.m. near Highway 65 and 820th Street, Beldenville. The vehicle was also following another vehicle within one car length. The vehicle signaled a right turn, then abruptly turned left. After field sobriety tests, the driver was arrested for OWI-third.

Police received a heads up that vehicle was being repossessed at 11:48 a.m. at 301 Cherry Ave., Plum City.

Deputies assisted Dunn County with a grass fire at 4 p.m. along Highway 72 near 225 N. Woodworth St., Elmwood.

A caller reported an abandoned vehicle in private property at 6:15 p.m. at W5346 799th Ave., Spring Valley. The caller was advised the vehicle wouldn’t be towed since it was on private property.

At 8:35 p.m., a caller at W7662 450th Ave., Ellsworth, reported finding an abandoned bicycle in the yard. The description matched a stolen bike report Ellsworth police had taken earlier. Ellsworth police said they’d pick up the bike and return it.

At 9:10 p.m., police received a driving complaint about a vehicle crossing into oncoming traffic on Highway 35 near 1240th Street, Prescott. The driver was arrested for OWIfirst and operating with PACfirst. They were also cited for operate without a license, operating left of center and possession of open intoxicants.

Officers responded at 9:15 p.m. to W9293 290th Ave., Hager City for a possible domestic. It turns out the domestic had actually occurred at Evergreen Estates in Ellsworth, so Ellsworth police responded there.

Deputies were called at 11:18 p.m. to County Road M and 1031st Street, River Falls, for a brush fire in the ditch. Police attempted contact at the residence where the fire was at, but received no answer.

Tuesday, July 26

Officers performed a welfare check at 8:04 a.m. on a woman walking near Highway 29 and County Road F, Prescott. Police gave her a courtesy ride to 161 Tower Road, Prescott.

A man called police at 9:04 a.m. and said someone had stolen compost the night before at N8889 1031st St., River Falls and it “was suspicious.” It turns out there had been a fire nearby and River Falls Fire Department had responded.

A driver fell asleep at 9:09 a.m. and drove into the ditch and into a cornfield near County Road V and Highway 35, Hager City. The vehicle had no damage. The driver was going to park for awhile and rest.

At 9:12 a.m., a caller reported a man in a blue SUV stopping along the road and smashing mailboxes near Highway 63 and 350th Avenue in Hager City. Deputies located the vehicle and the driver admitted to the crime. He was arrested and transported to jail.

Officers received a trespassing complaint at 10:25 a.m. at W8110 770th Ave., River Falls.

Police performed a welfare check at 1:17 p.m. at N943 County Road U, Plum City. The woman declined needing help and said she had resources available.

Deputies responded to a vehicle vs. Pierce County Highway Department crack cutter crash at 1:41 p.m. at Race Avenue and Birch Street in Elmwood. An accident report will be completed.

Officers were called to a two-vehicle crash at 3:27 p.m. at Highway 10 and County Road J in the town of Trimbelle. An accident report will be completed; there were no injuries.

Police were dispatched at 4:59 p.m. to W10001 County Road FF, River Falls, for a disorderly person. The person calmed down and agreed to seek treatment.

A caller reported multiple suspicious vehicles in the area at 5:06 p.m. near N4765 1065th St., Prescott. A group of people told police they were shooting a music video. They were advised to stay off private property.

At 8:39 p.m., officers responded to Eau Galle Recreation Area (W501 Eau Galle Dam Road, Spring Valley), where a ranger had found an abandoned bag containing a gun. The alleged owner came back to retrieve the bag, but denied ownership of the gun inside. He left prior to police arriving.

Extra patrol was requested at 9”16 p.m. at N5335 760th St., Ellsworth, due to a potential stalker situation.

At 11:08 p.m., a complainant reported her home alarms going off and hearing noises outside at W5184 250th Ave., Bay City. Police found nothing suspicious.

Wednesday, July 27

Officers responded to a one-vehicle crash with property damage at 7:35 a.m. at 70th Street and County Road U, Plum City. The driver said he wasn’t injured and didn’t need a tow. He was cited for operating left of center. A crash report will be completed.

A vehicle theft was reported at 9:32 a.m. at N8166 Highway 65, River Falls.

A caller reported a suspicious person at 11:47 a.m. at 459 S. Public St., Elmwood. The man there stated he was homeless and stays there from time to time to sleep.

A search warrant was performed at 1:09 p.m. at N8874 200th St., Spring Valley.

At 2:12 p.m., a man reported that his brother had taken down a fence at N5789 1170th St., Prescott. The land is in a trust and there are family tensions. Both men were advised it’s a civil matter and to seek an attorney.

A complainant reported her husband at 3:28 p.m. for leaving annoying messages on the home phone at S238 Church Ave., Spring Valley. She’s sick of listening to them. Police advised her to unplug the phone and allow the husband to speak with the kids on their cell phones.

Officers responded at 4:01 p.m. to W7717 570th Ave., Ellsworth, where a woman was found deceased.

Police were called at 6:25 p.m. to N617 Foote Ave., Spring Valley, for a possible runaway from a group home. The person was at home and safe.

Deputies responded at 8:44 p.m. to W6354 610th Ave., Ellsworth for suspicious activity. A third party complainant was worried that a suspicious vehicle had pulled into his driveway multiple times. The suspect said he was test driving a vehicle that he was fixing. He was advised to stay off private property.

Thursday, July 28

Officers pulled over a vehicle for speeding at 12:55 a.m. at Highway 35 and 370th Avenue, Prescott. The driver was arrested for OWI-first, possession of synthetic THC and possess drug paraphernalia.

Deputies were asked to check a building with an open door at 5:09 a.m. at 455 E. Wall St., Ellsworth. The keyholder said they left it open for ventilation.

Police were called to a possible domestic at 9:27 a.m. at W8441 285th Ave., Hager City. When police arrived, the man had left the scene and the woman didn’t provide much information. She did say the man had been disorderly, intoxicated and had threatened self-harm the night before. She was given resources to call and police attempted to contact the man without success.

Police located two juveniles at 11:18 a.m. on the side of the road and bridge near N2597 County Road K, Hager City. They said they were having a picnic by the creek. Police gave them a ride back home.

At 2:17 p.m., police responded to N7998 Highway 65, River Falls, for a suspicious vehicle parked in a private driveway. The driver said he is logging back there and could move the vehicle if needed. The complainant said he could park there.

Police investigated a suspicious person complaint at 5:47 p.m. near N8072 410th St., Spring Valley. A caller said a man had been in the parking lot making inappropriate gestures. Police searched the area, including foot trails, but found no one.

Extra patrol was requested at 8:29 p.m. at W6629 570th Ave., Ellsworth.

Officers were asked to check the area at 9:25 p.m. around N5335 760th St., Ellsworth. The caller had concerns about someone in the area.

Friday, July 29

Deputies were called at 6:52 a.m. to Highway 35 and County Road E, Prescott, for a single-occupant plane crash. The pilot was extracted from the plane and transported to the hospital by EMS. The FAA responded to conduct a crash investigation.

At 1:08 p.m., a caller at W7298 740th Ave., River Falls, reported being scammed by a caller claiming to be Apple Support. All information was collected and documented.

At 2 p.m., a man residing at N7019 County Road QQ, Prescott, went to the sheriff’s office with papers he wanted served. The officer smelled intoxicants and had him perform field sobriety tests. He was then asked to call someone for a ride.

Police responded at 8:32 p.m. to Spring Valley Health Care Center (S830 Westland Drive, Spring Valley) for an unwanted person report. The caller stated they were being harassed by someone who had assaulted them.

Officers responded at 10:01 p.m. to N3456 750th St., Hager City, for a burglary in progress. One woman was located and arrested for a parole warrant, possession of methamphetamine and possess drug paraphernalia.

At 11:36 p.m., police responded to Eau Galle Dam Road and Overlook Drive in Spring Valley for a crash where the vehicle left the scene. Skid marks and a damaged guardrail were found. The vehicle wasn’t located.

Saturday, July 30

Police saw a driver cross the center line and stop on the incorrect side of the road at 1:49 a.m. at Highway 63 and 825th Street (north interchange), Hager City. The driver was arrested for OWI-second and cited for operating left of center.

At 6:44 a.m., a caller at N7923 870th St., River Falls, reported someone had dumped asphalt on his property which blocked a culvert. The township said they would clean it up.

Police responded to an EMS call at 7:57 a.m. at N4914 Highway 63, Ellsworth, where a man was deceased. Police assisted the medical examiner with the investigation.

A burglary was reported at 11:33 a.m. at N4304 County Road S, Plum City.

Officers were asked to respond at 3:12 p.m. to the area of 890th Avenue and County Road P, Spring Valley, where a female motorcyclist had been stung by a bee. They did not locate her.

A caller reported trespassing fishermen at 3:4 p.m. at N8634 County Road Y, River Falls. Police found four people and passed the information on to the warden for fishing violations.

Deputies received an ATV complaint at 5:15 p.m. in the area of County Road G and 490th Street, Ellsworth. The owner said the kids were riding on private property and not on the road.

Police performed a welfare check on a man walking on the side of the road at 7:25 p.m. near Highway 35 and County Road K, Hager City. He appeared to be under the influence of something. Police found the man, who requested to be taken to the hospital due to an anxiety attack. Red Wing Fire transported him.

At 8:19 p.m., a caller reported a juvenile walking on the side of the road wearing a blanket near Highway 35 and County Road K. The juvenile said he was just out for a walk. Police contacted Human Services so said it was ok to bring him home.

A caller made a fireworks complaint at 9:10 p.m. at N673 825th St., Hager City. Security there said they’d keep an eye out.

Officers responded to a property damage complaint at 11:05 p.m. at N5510 County Road O, Ellsworth. Police discovered a juvenile party at the scene.

Sunday, July 31

At 1:45 a.m., a caller reported a noise complaint concerning N673 825th St., Hager City. The caller was advised to contact the township regarding the ongoing issues.

Suspicious activity was reported at 4:14 a.m. at N5830 1110th St., Prescott.

At 12:19 p.m., a tow driver reported towing a vehicle with damage from the area of 643rd Street and 710th Avenue, Beldenville. The driver had wrecked the night before in a cornfield and didn’t know he had to report the crash. Police will mail citations.

Monday, Aug. 1

Officers responded at 12:06 a.m. to the area of County Road J and 640th Avenue, Beldenville, where they removed a downed tree.

Deputies checked on a suspicious vehicle parked at 2:09 a.m. at W4857 Highway 35, Bay City. The vehicle was unoccupied and no one was in the area.

An unwanted person was reported at 11:14 a.m. at 109 S. Scott St., Elmwood.
