William Baker 1951-2022

William Leo Baker, age 71, of Prescott died on Nov. 24, 2022. William was born to Leo and Delite (Peterman) Baker on May 1, 1951 in Prescott, Wis. He attended Prescott High School graduating with the class of 1969. He entered the military right after high school for several years. After his honorable discharge he went back home to work in the family construction business. His life was blessed with three sons, Nick, Michael and Tim.

From a young age, William had a strong interest in the outdoors and learning to be mechanically inclined. Growing up in a home as the youngest allowed him to learn many skills. As an adult he spent numerous hours in the outdoors enjoying camping, fishing and hunting with friends and family. Hunting especially played a large role throughout his life. He also had a strong mechanical aptitude with an impressive ingenuity leaving many of us wondering “how did you figure that out?” William was proud to have three boys to raise, as well as his wonderful grandchildren to spoil.

William is survived by his former wife Virginia Baker; children: Nick (Tera) Baker, Michael (Abby) Baker, and Tim (Cassie) Baker; grandchildren:

Mason, Jaxon, Maddy, Camden, Presten, Autumn, and Devyn; siblings: Jim (Joan) Baker, Bob (Kathy) Baker, and Richard (Sheri) Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Delite Baker, sister: Mary (Dave) Thoen, and brother: Joe (Inez) Baker.

There will be a Celebration of Life starting at noon on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022 at Old Ptacek’s Event Center, 1449 Orrin Road, Prescott, Wis.
