Pierce County Land Management Office Manager Shari Koehler is retiring Jan. 6 after 23 years of service to the county in several roles.

According to colleague Emily Lund, Koehler worked in the Pierce County Clerk of Court’s office from February 1999 to February 2006, as the Pierce County Land Management zoning secretary from February 2006 to June 2014, and as the Pierce County Land Management office manager from June 2014 to January 2023.

Koehler raised her family in Elmwood where her children graduated high school. She now lives in River Falls with husband Greg Koehler.

“She is a wonderful grandmother and adores spending time with her grandkids,” Lund said. “She also loves her family, watching her son race with the SSR race cars, to bake, cook, knit, scrapbook, most kinds of crafts, taking pictures for weddings and graduations, motorcycling, camping, long distance biking, driving her Corvette, fly fishing with her family, traveling, and more.”

A retirement celebration will be held for Koehler from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5 in the county board room #30 in the lower level annex of the Pierce County Courthouse (124 N. Oak St., Ellsworth). All are welcome.
