Trailing 28-14 in the fourth, Spring Valley dug deep with some late touchdowns to win 36-28 over Turtle Lake Friday, Sept. 12. The Cardinals moved to 2-2 on the year and are 2-0 in conference. The game was the lone home game of the week in Pierce County. They host Cadott on Friday in search of continuing winning ways.

Elmwood/Plum City got in the win column with a 16-0 shutout win over Colfax. The Wolves are 1-3 overall and 1-1 in conference after the win. A home game against Turtle Lake is on deck for the Wolves.

Ellsworth also cruised to a win, heading to Saint Croix Central and leaving with a 28-8 win. The game started a little slow offensively, but the Panthers found their rhythm. Ellsworth is 2-2 on the year and 1-1 in conference. Ellsworth hosts Amery in search of pushing themselves into the upper echelon of the conference.

Prescott, on the other hand, could not get the offense going in time, losing 14-0 to Altoona to move to the same records as Ellsworth, 2-2 overall and 1-1 in conference. Prescott hits the road to take on an Osceola team that is 2-0 in conference play.

River Falls played its closest game yet, but avoided a scare in a 28-13 road win over Chippewa Falls. The Wildcats are 4-0 as they head to New Richmond for another road test.
