Our Neighbors Day, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Our Neighbors’ Place (122 W. Johnson St., River Falls). Always wondered what we do at Our Neighbors’ Place? Here’s a chance to find out! Open house, tours and freewill donation yard sale will be held 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. A free meal will be served 4-6 p.m. Stop by anytime!

History Club, 2 p.m., Spring Valley Public Library (E121 Second St.) Pierce County Historical Association and local libraries are bringing local history lovers together to increase appreciation for local history. The group will lead and contribute to local projects in their own community. Each meeting will start with a Show & Tell. Bring a family or town photo, heirloom, tell a story or share a memory. Julie Huebel will also bring a local item from the PCHA archives to show.

Pine Glen Cemetery Annual Meeting, 6:30 p.m., Prescott City Hall (800 Borner St.). All grave owners are encouraged to attend.

‘Thistles & Thorns’ Book Signing, 6:30 p.m., Ellsworth Public Library (388 W. Main St.) Author Jessica Peterson will speak about trauma responsive communities and grieving with gratitude. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

Trivia Night, 7-9 p.m., Spillway (S225 McKay Ave., Spring Valley). Spring Valley Public Library Trivia Night. First Thursday of each month. $300 for first place. Points carry over from each month.

RF Area Retired Educators Association, 11 a.m., St. Croix Lanes (1153 St. Croix St., River Falls). We accept members who are retired and part of the Wisconsin Retirement System. We will discuss the future of our local group (when and where we meet, dues, new members). We will talk about the many benefits of belonging to RFAREA and the WREA.

‘Mama, a Rainbow,’ 7 p.m. May 13 and 2 p.m. May 14, Spring Valley Stagehands Theatre (S234 McKay Ave., Spring Valley). A 2023 Mother’s Day concert by the Spring Valley Treble Choir, directed by Ann Turner. Tickets available online at svstagehands.org or at the door prior to each show. Adults are $10, seniors are $8 and students are $8.

SCV Genealogical Society Annual Meeting, 6:30 p.m., First National Bank of River Falls meeting room (104 E. Locust St., River Falls). Annual meeting first, followed by 7 p.m. program. The featured speaker is Bob Johnson, “An Introduction to Norwegian Genealogical Records,” covering the most important records for good research in Norway – church records, census records and bygdebøker—and from there move on to other helpful secondary sources. Among the sources discussed are the Norwegian National Archives (Arkivverket), Norway-Heritage, Oluf Rygh website, FamilySearch, MyHeritage ($), and Ancestry.com ($).

EMS Color Run, 2:15 p.m., Ellsworth Middle School (312 Panther Drive). Join us for the EMS Color Run where students run through a dedicated track while having color thrown at them from everywhere.

Saturday, May 27

Mooney’s Car Show & Bike Rally, 9 a.m., downtown Spring Valley. Line up starts at 9 a.m. Road closes at 11 a.m. Registration is $5. Every car and bike receives a dash plaque. Trophies in different categories.

Monday, May 29

Bay City Memorial Day Services will be held at 8 a.m. at Esdaile Cemetery, 8:30 a.m. at Hartland Methodist Cemetery, at 9 a.m. at Tabor Lutheran Cemetery, at 9:30 a.m. at Bay City Lakeshore, at 10 a.m. at Bay City Cemetery, at 10:45 a.m. at Trenton, at 11:30 a.m. at Diamond Bluff and at noon at Svea Lutheran. Guest speaker Pastor Al Aakre of Svea Lutheran will be in attendance at Trenton, Bay City Cemetery and Bay City Legion, along with the EMS band. A special ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. at the Bay City American Legion to dedicate the new veterans memorial. All are welcome.

Showdown in Curdtown, 6:30 p.m., Pierce County Fairgrounds (364 N. Maple St., Ellsworth). Eight pulling classes attracting participants from across the nation. This event is the main fundraiser for the Ellsworth FFA Alumni.

Sunday, June 11

Sunday Brunch, 9 a.m. to noon, River Falls Moose Lodge 594 Moose Lodge (620 N. Clark St., River Falls). Buffet includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, pancakes, French toast, biscuits and sausage gravy, plus a Bloody Mary and Bubbly bar. Funds raised will go toward the parking lot fundraiser.

Friday, June 30

Maiden Rock Party in the Park, 4-10:30 p.m., Maiden Rock Village Park. 4-H Rockets and MRACA food stands open at 4 p.m., craft/vendor fair 4-8 p.m., talent contest 4-7 p.m., magician Michael Huffman at 7:30 p.m., fireworks at dusk over Lake Pepin. Tribute to veterans before fireworks.
