April Book Club, 5:30 p.m., Elmwood Public Library (111 Main St.) We will discuss “The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue” by V.E. Schwab.

Cookbook Club, 6:30 p.m., Plum City Public Library (611 Main St.) Check out a copy of “Bake by Paul Hollywood,” then bring in a dish you enjoyed to share.

SCV Genealogical Society, 7 p.m., First National Bank of River Falls meeting room (104 Locust St., River Falls). Paula Stuart-Warrant will talk about “The Farmer in the Dell … and in Many US Records.” This session is about the extensive records and places for learning more about ancestral farmers and arms. Zoom link will be sent to members, but the public is welcome to join. Contact Darcy at 715-307-5149 with questions.

Bluegrass, Bourbon & Brews Festival, various River Falls locations. The River Falls Area Chamber of Commerce brings new venues, local craft beverages and live music. Visit riverfallsbluegrass.com for a full line-up.

 

Saturday, April 22

Drug Take Back Day, 7 a.m., Pierce County Sheriff’s Office (555 W. Overlook Drive, Ellsworth). Safely dispose of prescription and over-the-counter meds during our event. The PCSO has a permanent drug dropbox, as well as the following locations: RFPD, Ellsworth PD, Prescott PD and Spring Valley PD.

Salad & Dessert Luncheon, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Elmwood Auditorium (323 W. Winter Ave.) Hosted by the Elmwood Enrichment Council. Funds go toward auditorium upkeep. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children (ages 5-12). Buy tickets at the door or call 715-639-4311. Door prizes also awarded.

Earth Day Fair, 1-5 p.m., Freedom Park (200 Monroe St., Prescott). Learn how to be a better steward of the earth. Entomologist John Hempel will be onsite with his largest bug collection in the world. Check out booths on solar energy, beekeeping, gardening, a food truck and more!

Earth Fest 2023, noon to 4 p.m., Glen Park (355 Park St., River Falls). A free community celebration of the past, present and future sustainability efforts in River Falls and the surrounding area. This family-friendly event includes live music, fun family activities, food sampling, a sustainability and wellness fair, free giveaways and more.

St. Francis School of Rock Gala, 5 p.m., St. Francis Parish Hall (244 W. Woodworth St., Ellsworth.) Celebrate the school’s 75th anniversary with Dueling Piano Men Trey Grimm and Dan Satterburg. Enjoy live music, dining, raffles, games, silent and live auctions, and a moving pledge. Dress the theme in distressed denim, leather jackets and rock T-shirts.

EPC Prom Grand March, 5 p.m., Plum City Elementary School (621 Main St.) Theme is “Masquerade.” Dinner and dance will be from 7-11 p.m. at The Metropolis in Eau Claire, followed by post-prom party 11:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. Club 10 in Durand.

Sunday, April 23

Gameshow Showdown, 1-4 p.m., Spirit of Grace Church (127 S. Second St., River Falls). Join us anytime between 1-4 p.m. to compete head-to-head against other groups. Stay as long or as little as you like. We’ll compete in a variety of games such as “The Price is Right,” “Family Feud” and “Jeopardy.”

Page Turner’s Book Club, 6:30 p.m., Plum City Public Library (611 Main St.) We will be reading “The Sentence” by Louise Erdrich. Print, large print and audiobook CD copies are available at the circulation desk.

EHS Prom Grand March, 5 p.m., Ellsworth High School (323 W. Hillcrest St.) Theme is “A Night in Hollywood.” Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Students will head to The Grand Ballroom in Stillwater at 6 p.m. for dinner and dancing.

RFHS Prom Grand March, 7 p.m., River Falls High School (818 Cemetery Road). Theme is “A Night in Paris.” Tickets are $5 for community members at the door. Dance follows for students at 8 p.m.

PHS Prom Grand March, 7:30 p.m., Prescott High School (1010 Dexter St.) Theme is “Masquerade.” Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Electronics Recycling, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Public Works Garage (950 Benson St., River Falls). About to toss them in the trash? Not so fast! Bring your old electronic items like batteries, cables, wires, cell phones, computers, dehumidifiers, holiday lights, light bulbs, TVs and more for recycling. Bring a form of identification and your most recent RF Municipal Utilities bill.

Hastings/Prescott Bike Tour, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sponsored by the Prescott Area Chamber of Commerce/Hastings Chamber. Stay tuned for details on start times for a guided bike tour across the bridge.

Mountain Bike Skills Park Work Day, 1-4 p.m., Magee Park (Prescott). Coulee River Trails needs help clearing the area and constructing features for budding bikers to learn skills for trail riding. History Club, 2 p.m., Spring Valley Public Library (E121 Second St.) Pierce County Historical Association and local libraries are bringing local history lovers together to increase appreciation for local history. The group will lead and contribute to local projects in their own community. Each meeting will start with a Show & Tell. Bring a family or town photo, heirloom, tell a story or share a memory. Julie Huebel will also bring a local item from the PCHA archives to show.

Pine Glen Cemetery Annual Meeting, 6:30 p.m., Prescott City Hall (800 Borner St.). All grave owners are encouraged to attend.

Prescott K9 Fundraiser Dueling Pianos, 5:30-10 p.m., The Old Ptacek’s Event Center (1449 Orrin Road, Prescott). Ticket includes dinner and show at $50 per person or $375 per table of eight. DM Lisa Johnson, Trisha Packard or Shannon Billeter for tickets.

A Taste of Tuscany, 4:30 p.m., Vino in the Valley (W3826 450th Ave., Maiden Rock). The Ellsworth Community School District Foundation’s annual fundraiser. Funds raised enrich and enhance learning opportunities for students. Enjoy great wine, delicious dinner, silent auction, live music, vineyard tours by wagon and more.
