The following incidents were reported to Ellsworth Police Department Sept. 29 through Oct. 6, 2025.

Monday, Sept. 29

  • Jazmine Lee Gardner, 29, Ellsworth, reported that she struck a pedestrian sign in the roadway at 3:26 p.m. at Main and Grant streets. It didn’t appear to have additional damage.

  • At 6:44 p.m., a cross country runner was grazed by a vehicle, driven by … at Ridge Road and Piety Street. The driver said he didn’t see the runners when he turned. He said he stopped but the runners continued on. He was warned for his driving behavior. No injuries were reported.

 

Tuesday, Sept. 30

  • At 2:40 p.m., a caller at 705 S. Maple St. reported a suspicious person in her driveway looking around her vehicle. She had images to email police.
  • At 3:34 p.m., an employee at Pierce County Fairgrounds (364 N. Maple St.) reported that sometime between Sept. 26-29 someone had lit toilet paper on fire in the men’s west bathroom off Machinery Road, which made a huge mess. There was no other damage.
  • Leo Prestin Grotto, 30, Ellsworth, was arrested for forgery – uttering after using fake money at 11:13 p.m. at Bullwinkle’s (305 W. Main St.) He was also trespassed from the bar.

 

Wednesday, Oct. 1

  • At 4:39 a.m., police found a man with a Sawzall inside a unit at 526 E. Railroad Ave. The owner said no one should be there at that hour. A woman advised she has been living in Ellsworth for about a month; her Minnesota license plates were taken and destroyed.
  • At 9:53 a.m., police were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash with injuries at 223 E. Main St. between Tucker Walter Hunter, 26, Spring Valley, and Judy Kay Murray, 70, Beldenville. EMS transported Murray to Red Wing Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Hunter was cited for inattentive driving.
  • Scott H. Davis, 58, Ellsworth, was arrested for a probation violation at 1:27 p.m. at 310 W. Main St.
  • At 2:55 p.m., police were asked to do a welfare check at 430 N. Maple St. on a woman who said a man had taken back a vehicle she was borrowing from her mother.
  • Aaron Fuentes Rodriguez, 52, no address listed, was cited for operate without valid license and possess drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 10:05 p.m. at Main and Grant streets.

 

Thursday, Oct. 2

  • At 4:43 p.m., police checked on two vehicles parked for an extended time at 193 E. Main St. They denied needing assistance.
  • At 12:01 p.m., police escorted a man suspected of a previous shoplifting complaint to Family Dollar (181 E. Main St.) where he paid for the items and was trespassed from the store.
  • At 5:38 p.m., police checked on a woman laying in the ditch at Maple Street and Overlook Drive. She had just been released from jail and was waiting for a ride.
  • Police were dispatched to a juvenile complaint at 8:35 p.m. at a home on 825th The juvenile was not missing and responded to a text. Officers then assisted Pierce County deputies with a suicidal woman.

 

Friday, Oct. 3

  • Police checked on a man sleeping on a bench at 3:23 a.m. outside of 455 E. Wall St. He said he’d gotten into an argument with his partner and left for the night. He didn’t need any help.
  • At 2:32 p.m., a man reported being harassed by a woman at 159 W. Main St. He said he had left his dog in the car and a woman approached him, loudly rebuking him and creating a scene. She said people like him belong in jail. The complainant said he’d email police a photo of the woman’s car.
  • Joseph Patrick Montgomery, 47, Ellsworth, was cited for operate without valid license (third) after a traffic stop at 7 p.m. at 159 W. Main St. His improper license plates were taken and destroyed.

 

Saturday, Oct. 4

  • Officers assisted Pierce County with a crash at 8:46 a.m. at Highway 10 and County Road DD.
  • Officers assisted Pierce County deputies at 11:53 p.m. at Highway 10 and 450th

 

Sunday, Oct. 5

Police assisted Pierce County deputies with a traffic stop at 8:52 p.m. at Highway 65 and County Road J, Beldenville.
