The Journal is pleased to introduce our summer intern, Noah Windsor. Actually, we’ll let Noah tell you about himself in his first writing assignment. Welcome, Noah!
My name is Noah Windsor. I am a 14 year-old incoming freshman at Ellsworth High School. I am infatuated with writing, documenting, and interviewing. Working at the Journal will give me new knowledge on these subjects, as well as experience. Outside of these obvious reasons, the connections and things discovered could be beneficial to me in the future.
Besides wanting to be a journalist, I have many other interests such as music and orchestra. I was recently accepted into Middle School State Honors Choir, which will be held in Madison in October. This is big news considering that thousands of students auditioned to attend this musical event, and only a select few were accepted.
Music and subjects revolving around it such as musicals, plays, concerts, and more are astonishing to me because of the friends and connections I have made. They are amazing and I feel constant happiness in these activities. I enjoy every minute that I’m a part of it.
Breaking off from music, I also enjoy cooking / baking, playing games, watching shows and movies, writing, and reading. In terms of the outdoors and the wilderness, I enjoy things like fishing, taking walks through forests, swimming, and just enjoying nature by sitting outside and taking it all in.
Splitting off into my favorite things, sushi is my favorite food by far. My candy of choice is definitely Reese’s Pieces. I mean, you can't go wrong with one single chocolate-covered peanut butter delight, or 10 of them if you’re like me. My favorite flavor of ice cream is undoubtedly mint. Mint is simply the best.
Backtracking to some outer interests, some things I like, or I should say some things I nerd out about, are definitely aeronautical technology, or planes and their tech. Planes and all their gadgets are something I enjoy observing and noticing. Working with planes like being a pilot or working with and/or designing them is something like a dream to me and I wish to travel the world. I mean really, if I could choose my career path, it would be with planes. To me they are just incredible works of machinery and I hope one day to operate, or even design my own.
That’s really all there is to know about with me. I’m simply just a curious new journalist with some nerdy interests and big dreams, and I am so excited for all there is to come with this job and more!
