The following incidents were reported to River Falls Police Department July 19.

Tuesday, July 19

Officers responded to a one-vehicle crash at 12:47 a.m. on Highway 35 at Quarry Road. Leiha Alexandra Kuhnke, 19, River Falls, was driving a 2007 Dodge Dakota south on Highway 35 when she fell asleep and struck a concrete barrier. The vehicle had functional damage along its entire driver’s side. Kuhnke drove the vehicle to her residence, where she reported the crash. She had no injuries.

An officer requested back-up during a volatile traffic stop at 1:45 a.m. in the driveway of 617 S. Main St. The officer followed the vehicle from Main and Locust streets after witnessing it nearly striking a curb and operating left of center. The driver, identified as Spencer David Lee, 22, River Falls, pulled underneath a car port, exited the vehicle and walked toward the back of the vehicle with his hands over his head. Lee appeared agitated, swayed back and forth and smelled of intoxicants. He refused to perform field sobriety tests and said he didn’t trust cops. After he was handcuffed, he twisted his body in an effort to keep officers from bringing him to the squad. He began kicking and then head butted one officer in the chin, after which he was escorted to the ground. He threatened to box every officer there and when he had to be carried to the squad, he attempted to bite a sergeant. Once in the squad, which was a struggle, he spit on one officer. Police brought him to RF Area Hospital for medical clearance, where he became more cooperative. He was transported to Pierce County Jail for OWI, resisting and obstructing an officer and battery to law enforcement charges.

Officers responded at 12:58 a.m. to 127 S. Main St. where a woman was outside on the street screaming because her boyfriend was allegedly in the bar with another woman. She told police she had her kids in the car but had driven by Broz and saw her boyfriend inside. When she saw him with a woman, she parked and went inside, where she screamed at him. She left when asked to leave. A disorderly conduct charge was forwarded to the district attorney.
