A GOOD WOMAN NEVER GROWS OLD.
Years may pass over her head but if benevolence and virtue dwell in her heart, she is as cheerful as when the spring of life opened in her view. When we look at a good woman we never think of her age; she looks charming as when the rose of youth first blossomed on her cheek.
Many a man thinks it is a virtue that keeps him from turning a rascal, when it is only a full stomach. One should be careful and not mistake potatoes for principles.
October 6, 1860 Notice. To O. T. Maxson, W. J. Copp. L. Mansergh, James Gunn, W. T. Hatch, H. Doe. Alexander Lowrie, H. F. Johnson and all others interested in the lands sought to be taken for public purposes.
NOTICE is hereby given that application by petition has been made to the Common Council of the City of Prescott to take the following described lands, lying and being in the city of Prescott, (for the purpose of extending a second ward street).

FARTHER POINT, Oct. 2 The steamship North American from Liverpool 20th, via Londonderry 21st, passed here at 8 o’clock this morning bound for Quebec. She was boarded by the news boats of the Associated Press and summary of her news obtained.
