2024 Hudson Hot Air Affair: ‘Living Well with Dementia and Rockin’ with the Coldies’

Posted

The St. Croix Valley Dementia Friendly Communities Coalition (SCVDFCC) is excited to be participating in the 2024 Hudson Hot Air Affair Feb. 2-4, 2024. FirstCall Medical Monitoring by St. Croix Electric Cooperative (SCEC) will be sponsoring the Livin’ It Up balloon, piloted by Terry Dorshorst, to promote “Living Well with Dementia.” We encourage those living with brain changes and their care partners to pursue community involvement, to stay engaged and active, and to have fun “Rockin’ with the Coldies.”

Come see the parade and meet coalition members as we join Terry and his crew for the Torchlight Parade on Friday night at 7 p.m. in downtown Hudson. We invite you to take part in this short but rockin’ parade to see what cool ideas are sparked by this year’s theme. Kids (and fun adults too) will love to jam with us and get your own colorful air guitar! And don’t forget to stay for the fireworks at Lakefront Park immediately after the parade.

Balloon launches are held, weather permitting, on Saturday morning and afternoon, and Sunday morning, but please check for schedules, updates and the most current information on https://hudsonhotairaffair.com/ and the Hudson Hot Air Affair Facebook page.

Saturday evening the coalition will be rockin’ the MoonGlow/Field of Fire events with Terry and his crew. We’ll have photo ops and props! And don’t forget to grab a Livin’ It Up balloon trading card.

Join us to fight the stigma of dementia and promote our coalition’s mission: Collaborating to inspire healthy, friendly communities that support those living with dementia.

If you would like more information about our coalition or are interested in resources and support for persons living with dementia, please contact Kim Bauer, Dementia Care Specialist in St. Croix County at 715-381-4411 or Amy Luther, Dementia Care Specialist in Pierce County at 715-273-6780.
