Robert J. Olson Sr., age 79, of River Falls, WI passed away on February 9, 2021. Bob was born on May 1, 1941 in Hastings, MN to Joseph and Lurene (Ellingboe) Olson. After growing up in Hastings Bob would go on to serve in the Army from 1961 to 1964. On November 27, 1965 Bob was united in marriage to the love of his life Diane A. Olson, at St. Bridget Catholic Church in River Falls, WI. They were married for 50 years, before Diane’s passing in 2016. In the fall of 1976 the family moved from Hastings, MN to River Falls, WI.

Bob “aka Papa” will always be remembered for his love of fishing, antiquing, gift to talk, and never missing or having a good garage sale. Bob is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Lurene Olson, wife Diane A. Olson and sister Joan Sellers. Bob is survived by his children, Robert Olson Jr., Heidi (Brad) Molitor, and loving daughter inlaw Lisa Anderson; his grandchildren, James Robbins, Joseph Olson, Jorey Molitor (Alex Phan), Samantha Molitor; greatgrandchildren, Melina and Mason Robbins; Sisters, Audrey Adolphson, and Jeanette Schuffenhauer; as well as many nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life for Bob will take place Saturday April 3, 2021 at Eagle’s 1220 Vermillion St. Hastings, MN from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Interment will be at St. Bridget Catholic Cemetery in River Falls, WI. In lieu of flowers and memorials it is asked that you honor Bob’s memory by shopping your local small town shops, and going to garage sales this summer. Donations can also be made to your local veterans, food shelves and animal shelters in Bob’s memory.
