Wanted: Citizens willing to help School district looking to enlist the aid of local people to create a vision What will Prescott School District look like three years from now? Maintaining our status as a school district of choice requires a community effort – that’s where the citizens of Prescott come in.

In September 2010 the Prescott School Board voted to adopt a set of 3-year goals. To achieve these goals, we seek the input of citizens like you as part of the strategic planning process.

TRENTON TOWNSHIP—The comments range from glowing praise to outright admiration for a man who served his community in a variety of venues. In the aftermath of the death of James J. “Jimbo” Huppert of Trenton Township, those who served with him on the Ellsworth Area Ambulance Service and Ellsworth Police Department paused to remember their 32-year-old friend…“I knew Jimbo since the early 1980s,” police officer Gregg Place said. “He was a real caring person and very thorough. He was always willing to pitch in; if you ever needed something, he’d be there to help. Because he had expertise in both the law enforcement and medical fields, he was a real good man to have around.”

The franchise request was made in letter by attorney Keith Halverson. Dick was not present at the recent council meeting when a motion was made and passed to grant his request for such a franchise.

Married: Jane Larson to Keith Carpenter Groundbreaking Held for New Bank of Ellsworth Building (model photo) The Bank of Ellsworth, Ellsworth, Wisconsin, has announced plans for the construction of a new bank building, according to word received this week from Robert Magee, Vice-President.

“The Bank of Ellsworth has been at its present Main Street location since 1910,” said Magee. “We felt it time to arrange for new and larger quarters.” The bank’s new building will more than double the size of the building they now occupy. Sound and well-located as the old building is, however, has encouraged them to remodel the old bank once they have moved from it, and turn it into a general office building.

An Honored Public Official Passes On (An Editorial) Each community usually has one or more citizens outstanding among their fellow men, loved and respected by everybody for specific reasons. It may be that they have given super service as an official and have made their citizenship count by their patriotism, their ability and lifelong devotion to the work they set out to do.

Such a man was Ole J. Hohle of our community who had been a faithful servant of Pierce County for thirty-seven years and who passed away Sunday morning, honored and respected by the many who had come into contact with him in private trial and public life….His personal life was that of the Christian citizen, the good neighbor, the confidential friend. He had mature advice and generous helpfulness for those in trouble No one came to him with pressing problems without going away comforted by words and deeds. Few indeed, have the privilege of being a friend to so many and an enemy of none.

When the years began to tell on his health, he met the situation with Christian fortitude and with a cheerfulness which enabled him to carry upon his responsibilities with little outward sign of the burden which rested on him and which was growing heavier year by year.
