PIERCE COUNTY Accident Reports

Police responded to a hitand- run crash at 7 p.m. May 12 at US Highway 10 and First Street/County Road S in Plum City between a 2019 GMC Sierra, driven by Timothy Lee Evanson, 59, Durand, and a Chrysler PT Cruiser. Evanson was heading east and the other vehicle was stopped at the stopped sign and failed to yield Evanson. The other vehicle entered the intersection; Evanson attempted to stop, but struck the PT Cruiser, which fled from the scene. The Sierra had minor damage; Evanson wore a seat belt and reported no injuries.

Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at 1:39 p.m. May 16 at Highway 29 and 635th Avenue in the town of Clifton between a 2017 Subaru Legacy, driven by Gavin Nicholas Thoen, 16, Prescott, and a 2018 Ford E45 cargo van, driven by Michael Edward Koepke, 59, Coon Rapids, Minn. Koepke was heading east on Highway 29 and slowed to make a left-hand turn onto 640th Avenue. Thoen was behind Koepke and said he looked down to roll up the window.

When he looked up, the van was stopped and he collided with it. Thoen’s vehicle was towed due to disabling damage, while Koepke’s van had minor damage. Both drivers wore seat belts and reported no injuries. Thoen was cited for inattentive driving.

Ovcers responded to a one-vehicle crash at 4:44 p.m. May 19 on 770th Avenue about 1,200 feet east of 975th Street in the Town of River Falls. A 2012 GMC Sierra, driven by Ben William Hagar, 32, River Falls, was traveling westbound on 770th Avenue when a tree started to fall on the roadway due to the weather. Hagar tried to avoid the tree by turning into the opposite travc lane, but the tree struck the vehicle and landed on top of it. The GMC had functional damage. Hagar and two passengers, ages 4 and 3, wore seat belts and reported no injuries.

Police responded to a one-motorcycle crash at 7:01 p.m. May 20 on US Highway 10 just east of 800th Street in the town of Trimbelle. A 2009 Harley Davidson Street Glider, operated by Jordan Bradley Kemmerer, 29, Hager City, was traveling eastbound near the 800th Street intersection. He was unable to negotiate a right-hand curve and left the roadway, drove into a field and crashed. The Harley was towed due to disabling damage. An ambulance transported Kemmerer to a Minnesota hospital with suspected minor injuries. He was not wearing a helmet.

Ovcers responded to a two-vehicle crash at 7:33 p.m. May 21 at County Road S/Pine Avenue in Plum City between a 2010 Toyota Prius, driven by Maria Rose Richardson, 16, Stockholm, and a 2013 Chevy Silverado, driven by Curtis John Karshbaum, 40, Plum City.

Richardson was parked on Pine Avenue, left her parking spot and turned into the travc lane. Karshbaum had just exited an alley and turned onto Pine Avenue. The two vehicles collided, causing minor damage to both. Both drivers wore seat belts and reported no injuries.

Deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash at 3:34 p.m.

May 22 on Highway 65 just south of County Road J in the town of Ellsworth. A 2007 Honda Civic, driven by Jillian Raye Griggs, 16, Ellsworth, was heading north on Highway 65 when the passenger side tires hit the shoulder, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle over corrected and entered the ditch sideways on the driver’s side, but rolled over back onto its tires.

The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Griggs wore a seat belt and reported no injuries.
