Police responded to a one-vehicle crash at 5:14 a.m. Jan. 15 on State Highway 128 1.23 miles north of Partridge Avenue in the town of Spring Lake. A 2013 Lincoln MKT, driven by Joshua David Miller, 36, Hammond, was heading north on Highway 128. When attempting to negotiate a left curve, the vehicle slid off the road, entered the east ditch and hit two curve delineator signs and posts. The vehicle came to rest in the ditch, stuck in deep snow. The vehicle was towed with functional damage. Miller, who wore a seat belt, reported no injuries.

Officers responded to a one-vehicle crash at 8:27 a.m. Jan. 15 on 290th Street just south of 730th Avenue in the town of Gilman. A 2020 Ford F150, driven by Todd Louis Peterson, 58, Spring Valley, was heading north on 290th Street. He said he swerved to miss a deer, left the road on the west side and hit a bridge delineator sign, coming to rest on top of a large culvert. The truck was towed due to disabling damage. Peterson wore a seat belt and reported no injuries.

Deputies responded at 11:07 a.m. Jan. 17 to a vehicle vs. power pole crash on 410th Street at Highway 72 in the town of El Paso. A 2020 Freightliner 114SD snow plow, driven by Wallace Joesph Hines, 59, Ellsworth, was heading north on 410th Street. He had the box all the way up dumping sand. The box caught the telephone line and the power pole snapped off as the truck continued on, causing power lines to fall onto the road. The truck had no damage. Hines, who wore a seat belt, reported no injuries.

Police were called to a two-vehicle crash at 4:56 p.m. Jan .19 at N4762 530th St. in the town of Ellsworth between a 2012 Ford Edge, driven by Nicole Jean Krause, 36, Ellsworth, and 2021 Kubota BX2680 farm tractor, driven by Phillip Ray Hakari, 67, Ellsworth. Krause was heading north on 530th Street, while Hakari was stopped on 530th Street facing north getting the mail from his mailbox. He attempted a U-turn as Krause was passing by and struck her vehicle with the Kubota’s front bucket. Both vehicles had functional damage. The drivers and two passengers in Krause’s vehicle, children ages 5 and 4, reported no injuries.

Officers were called to a one-vehicle crash at 7:11 p.m. Jan. 21 on US Highway 10 just north of 390th Avenue in the town of Salem. A 1998 Chevy truck, driven by Loran Stephen Bauer, 71, Ellsworth, was heading west on Highway 10. While negotiating a downhill curve, he began to slide on the snow-covered road, went into the ditch and struck a guardrail with the rear of the vehicle. The truck was towed with functional damage. Bauer wore a seat belt and reported no injuries.

Police responded to a one-vehicle crash at 10:54 p.m. Jan. 21 on Highway 35 just south of 370th Avenue in the town of Diamond Bluff. A 2007 Ford Focus, driven by Hailey Rae Demotts, 24, River Falls, was heading south on Highway 35, lost control on the ice and went into the right ditch, where it rolled, landing on its passenger side. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Demotts wore a seat belt and reported no injuries.

Deputies responded at 8:20 a.m. Jan. 22 to a one-vehicle crash that had occurred at 4 a.m. Jan. 22 on 770th Avenue just west of 830th Street in the town of River Falls. A 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Ricky Lee Larson, 59, River Falls, was heading east on 770th Avenue. When he came out of curve, the vehicle entered the north side ditch and struck a livestock fence, where it snapped off a round, wooden post. The vehicle had minor damage. Larson and passenger Riley Antiel Larson, 28, River Falls, wore seat belts and reported no injuries.

Officers responded to a one-vehicle crash at 6:42 p.m. Jan. 22 on Highway 35 just south of 370th Avenue in the town of Diamond Bluff. A 2014 Dodge Dart, driven by Mary Elizabeth Poncelet, 20, Goodhue, Minn., was heading south on Highway 35, failed to negotiate a curve and entered the ditch. The vehicle towed due to disabling damage. Poncelet wore a seat belt and reported no injuries.

Deputies responded at 10:40 p.m. Jan. 22 to a one-vehicle crash that had occurred at 9:45 p.m. on Highway 29 one mile east of 1250th Street in the town of Oak Grove. A 1997 Ford Explorer, driven by Casey Terrance Wilcox, 29, River Falls, was heading west on Highway 29, crossed the center line, entered the ditch and rolled. The vehicle was towed with functional damage. Wilcox, who wore a seat belt, reported no injuries. He was cited for failure to keep vehicle under control.
