PIERCE COUNTY Accident Reports
Police were called to a one-vehicle rollover at 4:43 p.m. Aug. 11 on Highway 10 just west of 330th Avenue in the town of Salem. A 2010 Jeep Liberty, driven by Martin Manley Wright, 54, Maiden Rock, was heading west on Highway 10 when it crossed the center line, drove into the ditch, struck a traffic barrel, overturned and came to rest in the south ditch. Wright, who wore a seat belt, was taken to a Minnesota hospital with undisclosed injuries. The Jeep had to be towed due to disabling damage.
At 4:43 p.m. Aug. 14, officers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 65 just south of County Road W in the town of River Falls between a 1994 Suzuki VS800, driven by Troy Dean Adler, 44, Cottage Grove, Minn., and a 2018 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by Jenni M. Rohl, 44, River Falls. The motorcycle and Suburban were both southbound on Highway 65. Traffic was slowing ahead for a crash that had occurred in the area. Adler’s brakes locked up, so he laid the motorcycle down but slid into Rohl’s Suburban. Adler, who wore a helmet, gloves, boots and long pants, reported possible injuries but wasn’t transported. His motorcycle had functional damage. Rohl and two passengers, including Olivia Melissa Morgan, 24, River Falls, and an 8-year-old child, wore seat belts and reported no injuries. The Suburban had minor damage.
Officers responded to a one-vehicle crash at 4:42 p.m. Aug. 15 at Highway 65 and 750th Street in the town of Trimbelle. A 2014 Hyundai Sonata, driven by Patricia Claire Chilson, 80, Lino Lakes, Minn., was heading south on Highway 65. Chilson said she fell asleep, drifted across the lane of traffic, entered the north ditch and ran over a stop sign before coming to a stop. Chilson wore a seat belt and reported no injuries. Her vehicle had to be towed due to disabling damage.
Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at 4:40 p.m. Aug. 17 at Highway 10 and County Road E in the town of Oak Grove between a 2018 Mazda 323, driven by Keyanna Shavaun Skadsberg, 26, River Falls, and a 2006 Honda Pilot, driven by Grace Elaine Mikkelsen, 21, River Falls. Mikkelsen was eastbound on Highway 10 and Skadsberg was behind her. When Mikkelsen slowed to make a left turn onto County Road E, Skadsberg rear-ended her vehicle. Skadsberg, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to River Falls Area Hospital with suspected minor injuries. Her vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Mikkelsen, who wore a seat belt, reported no injuries. Her vehicle had functional damage.
At 11:03 p.m. Aug. 18, officers were called to a one-vehicle rollover crash on County Road O just north of 640th Avenue in the town of Trimbelle. A 2005 Kia Sedona, driven by Isabelle Hope Holm, 18, Prescott, was traveling south on County Road O. The driver became distracted, entered the west ditch, overcorrected, lost control, crossed the center line, spun around and entered the east ditch, where the vehicle rolled onto its side. Holm, who wore a seat belt, reported no injuries. The vehicle had to be towed due to disabling damage.
At 8:17 a.m. Aug. 21, police were called to a two-vehicle crash on 825th Street about a quarter- mile south of Highway 63 in the town of Trenton between a legally parked 2014 Ford F150, owned by Joshua Issac Stokes, Lino Lakes, Minn., and an unknown Nissan. Stokes’ vehicle was parked with an empty boat trailer attached. It appeared that the other vehicle backed into the Ford and fled the scene. Red Nissan car parts were found at the scene. The truck had functional damage.
At 4:33 p.m. Aug. 23, deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at County Road J and 570th Avenue in the town of Trimbelle between a 2021 Ram 4500, driven by Colten Johnath Sothman Karels, 28, Ellsworth, and a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Amy Marie Henrich, 43, Prescott. Karels, who was heading westbound on 570th Avenue, stopped at a stop sign and then proceeded into the intersection. He said the sun was in his face and he did not see Henrich’s vehicle, which was headed south on County Road J. Henrichs struck Karels’ vehicle just behind the rear doors in the bed of the truck. Karels said multiple times that he was at fault. He was cited for failure to yield right of way from stop sign. Both drivers wore seat belts and reported no injuries. Karels’ truck had minor damage, while Henrich’s vehicle had to be towed due to disabling damage.
At 12:25 a.m. Aug. 25, deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash near 410th street and 650th Avenue in the town of Gilman. A 2020 Chevrolet Silverado, being operated by Hunter Schoengarth, 23, Ellsworth, was traveling eastbound on 650th Avenue when it left the roadway, entered the north ditch, vaulted over 410th Street, went airborne and struck a power pole. Lifelink III Helicopter transported Schoengarth to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with undisclosed injuries. Ellsworth Area Ambulance, Ellsworth Fire and Lifelink III Air Ambulance Service assisted PCSO at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
