PIERCE COUNTY
At 10:52 p.m. July 28, PCSO deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 29 1,172 feet east of County Road N in the town of Gilman between a 2015 Jeep Cherokee, driven by James Carl Dohrer, 49, Wilson, and a 2006 Chevy Impala, driven by
Jasmine L. Aune, 21, Spring Valley. Dohrer was traveling westbound on Highway 29 during a heavy rainstorm with low visibility. Dohrer did not see a tree down blocking the roadway; he struck the tree, causing disabling damage to the vehicle. Aune was traveling eastbound on Highway 29 at the same time, and also struck the tree, causing disabling damage to her vehicle. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Dohrer and Aune reported no injuries; Dohrer’s two passengers, Carla R. Dohrer, 49, Wilson, and a 7year-old child also had no injuries. Everyone wore seat belts. Aune was cited for operate without a valid license and operate motor vehicle without insurance.
At 1:47 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, deputies responded to a motorcycle crash with injury at County Road UU at 100th Avenue near Plum City in the town of Maiden Rock. Christiana Maxson, 53, Mantorville, Minn. was operating a 2011 Harley Davidson southbound on County Road UU. When she attempted to negotiate a curve, her motorcycle left the road and overturned. Maiden Rock Ambulance transported her to Mayo Hospital in Red Wing, Minn. with undisclosed injuries. Maiden Rock Ambulance and Lund Fire Department assisted Pierce County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
At 1:02 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, officers responded to a single-motorcycle crash on 370th Avenue west of County Road A in the town of Salem. A 2000 Kawasaki motorcycle, operated by Terry Herring, 73, Farmington, Minn., was traveling westbound on 370th Avenue. When he tried to negotiate a curve, he lost control of the motorcycle, left the road, entered the north ditch and overturned. Herring was ejected. Herring, who was wearing a helmet, was transported to Mayo Hospital in Red Wing, Minn., with undisclosed injuries. Ellsworth Area Ambulance and Ellsworth Fire Department assisted PCSO at the scene.
