BALDWIN — The Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of St. Croix County invites older men to attend an upcoming Men’s Shed event 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the St. Croix County Highway Department in Baldwin.
Men’s Shed is a welcoming space designed for older men to connect, share experiences, and engage in meaningful conversation in a relaxed, informal setting. These gatherings provide an opportunity for older men to share skills and experiences while staying socially connected. Staying connected with others can support overall well-being and help prevent isolation.
Social connection plays an important role in our overall health and well-being. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), social isolation and loneliness can increase the risk of serious health conditions, including heart disease, stroke, dementia, depression, and anxiety. Opportunities to connect with others can help support mental and physical health by fostering a sense of belonging and community.
The event on May 6 will feature a presentation by Robbie Krejci, St. Croix County Highway Commissioner, who will provide an inside look at how the Highway Department works to keep roads safe and accessible. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a facility tour, meet others, and enjoy light refreshments.
“This event is about creating a space where people can connect and learn something new,” said Amy Roemhild, St. Croix County Health and Human Services Supervisor. “We’re excited to bring this opportunity to our Countyand look forward to future events.”
The May 6 gathering is the first in a planned series of Men’s Shed events.
Space may be limited. Participants are encouraged to RSVP by May 4 by calling 715-381-4360 or emailing adrcinfo@sccwi.gov
