Hobbies/interests: My musical interests including playing in a local brass quintet and jazz band. I cannot wait for more performance opportunities post-COVID. A pandemic hobby I picked up was gardening. This past winter, I trained for my first Kortelopet ski race, which was about 18 miles. I’m currently training for the full Birkebeiner race, which is 31 miles for February 2022. During the summer with my wife, I like to play on a church softball team, go kayaking, hike and play fetch with my dog.
Family: My wife and I currently live in New Richmond with our puppy, Nellie, but we hope to relocate to River Falls soon. We started dating in 2016 and married in 2019. Sarah has been teaching in River Falls since 2018. I started teaching at my first school in 2019. I’m excited to join the same music department as my wife at RFHS!
Why did you choose teaching as your profession? I decided I wanted to be a band teacher when I was in seventh grade. I had a great middle school band director whom I connected with really well. I always thought his job was really fun and I wanted to be that teacher for others!
