Hobbies/interests: As a student at UW-Madison, I was spoiled by all of the outdoor activities in the area. I love being outside hiking, running, walking my dog, and being on the water. I’m a bit of a foodie, and I love cooking new recipes with friends and family. I’ve also been quite fortunate in how much I’ve traveled and I look forward to using my passport again in the near future.
Family: I was born and raised in Oshkosh. My family includes my younger brother Alex and my parents, Drew and Dede. Both my parents work in education. My brother just graduated from high school with plans to attend Hamline University in the fall. I am also the very proud mom of Beau, my 1,5-year-old dog.
Why did you choose teaching as a profession? My mom has been a third-grade teacher my whole life. She always joked that I would follow in her footsteps. Although I loved telling her she was wrong, as I neared the end of my undergrad degree, I found myself gravitating towards careers which allowed me not only to continue learning, but sharing my knowledge and passion with others. Teaching provides me the opportunity to challenge myself, empower students, and work closely with the community. I’m incredibly excited and grateful to work in education.
