In the final week before the boys golf Regionals, each team took part in their conference championship events.

It was River Falls that led the way with a podium finish, taking third place as a team in the Big Rivers Championships at Rice Lake with a 312. Hudson won the event with a 301, and the hosts, Rice Lake, scored a 306.

Senior Ryan Swanson, who has had no problems winning events this year, tied for the conference crown with Hudson’s Bohde Schultz after scoring a 72. Rounding out the bronze-finishing lineup was senior Jaxon Flanagan with a 79, senior Archimedes Xiong with an 80, junior Nolen Dado with an 81 and sophomore Broden Flanagan with an 86.

At the Middle Border Conference Championships in Hammond, Ellsworth took fifth and Prescott eighth. Amery won the event with a 317 score.

Ellsworth’s 341 score was a team effort, as all five golfers finished in the middle of the pack. Junior Rowan Nelson and senior Coen Hinrichs tied for the team lead with an 84, followed by an 85 from freshman Nolan Helgeson and 88s from freshman Jordy Anderson and senior Andrew Girdeen.

Prescott scored a 400, led by junior Shia Parmeter with a 91, then junior Miles Malm with a 96, senior Calen Jackson with a 106, junior Emmett Stoeckel with a 107 and freshman Miles Hendrickson with a 109.

Spring Valley/Elmwood/Plum City finished seventh in the Dunn-St. Croix Conference Championship at Chippewa Falls. Sophomore Ruger Peavey and junior Chase Glaus finished just outside of the top 10 individually with scores of 88 and 90. Following them were freshman Samuel Bauer with a 94, junior Parker Peabody with a 103 and senior Darik Stoffel with a 105.

River Falls is hosting a May 26 Division 1 Regional, and if they advance, their Sectional would be June 2 in Marshfield. Ellsworth and Prescott’s Division 2 Regional is in Osceola on May 27. If either or both advance, they will move on to a June 3 Sectional in Spooner. In Division 3, SV/EPC will compete at the May 26 Cadott Regional, and advancement would lead them to the Winter Sectional on June 2.
