Annual Threshing Bee set for Aug. 18

Posted

The St. Croix Valley Collectors Association will host its 39th Annual Threshing Bee on Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024 at the Norm and Shirlee Feyereisen Farm, 429 Townsvalley Road, Hudson WI. The farm is located just south of Hudson off County F, then east on Coulee Trail to Townsvalley Road.

The day will feature a variety of old-time farm equipment in operation. Demonstrations include threshing, baling with a stationary hay press, silo filling, corn shelling and more. A variety of antique tractors, “hit and miss” engines and other equipment will also be on display throughout the day. Kids will love the train rides, goat pen and the River Falls FFA Corn Pit. Activities start at 10 a.m., with a noon break for a catered lunch of pulled pork sandwiches with all the trimmings topped off with root beer floats.

Other activities include a silent auction, and a 2 p.m. parade of antique tractors preceded by the annual crowning of a King and Queen.

The Threshing Bee is open to the public and there is no charge for admission, although a free will donation is appreciated to help defray the cost of food. Beverages are also available on site. For info call Pete Lubich at 715-821-7800 or Mike Lubich at 715-425-8430.
