Occupation/profession: Retired

Prior elected offices (if any): Trustee for village of Elmwood

Community/civic involvement: President of St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Hatchville committee.

What specific skills and/or experiences have helped you to serve as trustee (if an incumbent)? If a challenger, what skills and/or experiences have prepared you to take on this role? Service for two terms as trustee in prior years.

What issues are most pressing in the village? What would you do about them? I have not been made aware of any but to be honest I was not too involved while I was still working a job. Now that I’m retired I will have the time to get involved.

If you are an incumbent, what board/village accomplishment(s) are you most proud of? If a challenger, what has the previous board done well? I’m sure they’ve done what they felt was best.

What do you see as priorities the village should focus on? Should always focus on the safety of all residents.

What could the village do better? There needs to be some clean up around the village.

If you received a $1 million grant to use for the village in any way you wanted, what would you do with it and why? Well, the first thing I would do is see what the needs are and prioritize accordingly.

Where are your favorite places to spend time in the village? Why do you live here? I like small town living. The schools in small towns focus more on the children and their needs. Crime is controlled and people are respectful.

Why should people vote for you? What differentiates you from other board members/candidates? I will always work for the community as a whole.

Community/civic activities: Village trustee

What specific skills and/or experiences have helped you to serve as trustee (if an incumbent)? If a challenger, what skills and/or experiences have prepared you to take on this role? I have served a two-year term, and have learned a lot about small town government. I also have lived in Elmwood most of my life.

What issues are most pressing in the village? What would you do about them? Need to get something back on the tax roll

If you are an incumbent, what board/village accomplishment(s) are you most proud of? If a challenger, what has the previous board done well? I think we are sitting better financially than we have in the past

What do you see as priorities the village should focus on? Police, Water and Sewer

What could the village do better? I think the Village President we have is involved and does a great job, we are just working on improving many aspects.

If you received a $1 million grant to use for the village in any way you wanted, what would you do with it and why? Clean up some TID districts and improve some sidewalks and streets.

Where are your favorite places to spend time in the village? Why do you live here? I have a lot of pride in our little community; I think it’s a great place to live.

Why should people vote for you? What differentiates you from other board members/candidates? I have served already and got my feet wet.

How can people contact you? Most people know where I live or can call me.
