Arlene Snoeyenbos, age 90, of Ellsworth, Wis., passed away peacefully on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Preferred Living in Ellsworth, where she had resided for the past several years.

Arlene was born on Sept. 3, 1934, in Clifton Township, the daughter of Steve and Carmen (Campbell) Huppert. She attended St. Mary’s Big River Parochial School before graduating from Prescott High School. Around this time, she met, dated, fell in love with, and married her best friend, John Snoeyenbos, at St. Mary’s Big River Catholic Church on Sept. 15, 1956. Their loving union was blessed with four children: Theresa, Kristi, John, and Lee.

Arlene’s life centered around being a devoted wife and mother. She took great joy in cooking family meals and baking special treats for her children’s lunches. A talented seamstress, she lovingly sewed clothes for her kids, mended garments, and created beautiful quilts. She also had a passion for tending to her flower beds and baskets and had a deep love for music. Whether tapping her toes, playing the piano or organ, or reminiscing about her days playing the accordion alongside her father on the drums, music was always a part of her life. She was John’s greatest supporter, whether welcoming him home after a long day’s work or traveling with him to old car shows and toy tractor conventions as he restored them.

Arlene will forever remain in the hearts of her children: Kristi (Joe) Brickner, John (Tracy Miller) Snoeyenbos, and Lee (Kris) Snoeyenbos; her grandchildren: Toni (Chris) Torsell, Stacie (Joel) Enders, Jackie (Scott) Damiani, Jessica (Chris) Grinde, Annie (Justin) Leonard, Michael (Stacy Langer) Brickner, Einar (Trista Deose) Snoeyenbos , Alex Snoeyenbos, Cassy Snoeyenbos, and Sister ‘John Marie’ Hannah Snoeyenbos; her great-grandchildren: Logan, Nolyn, J.J., Robyn, Carmen, Oliver, Ravis, Camdyn, Brantly, Emmie, Mazie, Riley, Landon, and Payton; her siblings: Tootie (George Thoen) Wilbur, Pat Huppert, Ron (Darlene) Huppert, Tom (Joanne) Huppert, Rose (Chuck) Conroy, Tony (Trudy) Huppert, and Donna Huppert; and her in-laws: Marlyce Huppert, Janet Huppert, Fran Huppert, Mary Huppert, Bill (Judy) Snoeyenbos, and Bill Cave as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her daughter, Theresa (Brian Suilmann) Snoeyenbos; her siblings: Allan Huppert, Norman Huppert, Andy Huppert, Daniel Huppert and Patricia Huppert; her in-laws Pam Huppert and Margaret Cave and great grandson Nathan Damiani.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Arlene Snoeyenbos was held on Friday, March 14, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Ellsworth. Burial was at St. Mary’s Big River Cemetery. Memorials are preferred at the discretion of the family.
