Suspect fled across bridge to Minnesota
An armed robbery in downtown Prescott remains under investigation this week.
Prescott Police Chief Eric P. Michaels announced Friday that a gun was brandished in a reported armed robbery at St. Croix Liquor Store, 20 Orange St.
“On Thursday, March 25, Prescott officers were notified of a possible armed robbery that had taken place at the St. Croix Liquors Store,” a statement by Michaels reads. “Through the investigation, it was learned a male subject entered the store at approximately 6:32 p.m. and demanded the employee give him money. A firearm was displayed by the suspect toward the employee, who then handed over an undisclosed amount of cash before the suspect fled the store. The suspect then got into a vehicle and crossed the bridge into Minnesota.”
“This is an ongoing investigation, and limited details about the suspect or vehicle are being released at this time,” according to the statement. “There were no injuries during this incident. More details regarding this suspect and vehicle may be released at a later time. If you have any information regarding this incident, you are asked to contact Investigator Stewart at the Prescott Police Department.”
