The River Falls Student Art Show opened last week at the City Hall gallery and will be there through mid-May. It brings together a considerable amount of K-5 talent from River Falls Area Schools: Greenwood, Rocky Branch, and Westside Elementary. So art lovers, parents, grandparents, students and teachers: here is a real opportunity to view awesome art from some of our up-and-coming artists. City Hall hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Special thanks to the art fostering resources of teachers, parents and city hall personnel who accommodated the student art show this year while the basement of the library is under construction.
The City Hall Gallery lends itself well to children’s art with it’s great airy spaces. There’s a lot to look at. The ugly dolls seem to have a lot of allure for kids visiting the exhibit. Individual creations like the Ceramic Fish Dishes make a fun group display. Expect to see creative color and zany designs. Very impressive paper weavings by the kindergartners leave one thinking- wow! However, did they do that?
Don’t miss the Art from YAM, the Youth Art exhibitors who represented our area earlier this spring during Youth Art Month in exhibitions at UW-Stout in Menomonie and East Towne Mall in Madison.
The Trashion Show at Art’s House continues its successful run through April 25 when the recycled, mended and thrifted and upscale creations will be modeled at 1 p.m. at Earth Fest in the University Center.
