RIVER FALLS – Minneapolis-based artist and college educator Gregory J. Rose will judge and present awards for the Juried Student Exhibition in Gallery 101 of the Kleinpell Fine Arts building at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls on Monday, March 20, at 3:30 p.m.
Rose will give a talk about his art choices and present awards for ceramics, painting, glass, photography, printmaking, drawing/mixed media, and graphic arts. The awards ceremony and presentation are free and open to the public.
Rose teaches painting and drawing classes at Minneapolis Community and Technical College. Rose exhibited in four solo regional shows in the last year. He recently curated an exhibition at Soo Visual Art Center in Minneapolis titled “Change is God-Take Root Among the Stars: Black Abstraction in the Midwest.” His most recent international exhibitions have been in Senegal and Spain in 2019 and 2020, respectively. His current mixed media paintings can be seen at Inver Hills Community College in Gallery 120 and Modus Locus Gallery in Minneapolis.
The Juried Student Exhibition is sponsored by the UWRF Art Department. Students are encouraged to submit as many as four exhibition-ready artworks that were completed at the college within the last three years.
Gallery 101 hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 a.m.to 3 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The gallery is closed on the weekends.
