PRESCOTT — Mystery lovers, mark your calendars! Acclaimed author PJ Tracy—known for the internationally bestselling “Monkeewrench” series—is coming to Pierce County for an unforgettable evening of suspense and storytelling. Join us from 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10 at the Prescott High School Performing Arts Center for a free, live author talk, reading, and book signing featuring her highly anticipated new novel, “The Deepest Cut.”

This special event is co-hosted by the Prescott Public Library and Ellsworth Public Library, marking a first-of-its-kind collaboration between the two Pierce County libraries.

“I don’t think this has ever been done in our area before,” says Darien Becker, PPL’s Program & Outreach Coordinator. “It’s a powerful example of how libraries can come together to inspire community and promote a love of reading.”

Fans will have the opportunity to purchase books onsite, including “The Deepest Cut,” the 11th installment in the beloved Monkeewrench series—and have them signed by the author. No registration is required, and the event is open to the public.

For added convenience, Ellsworth Public Library will offer free bus transportation from Ellsworth to the venue. Seats are limited—please contact EPL at 715-273-3209 to reserve a spot.
PJ Tracy is the pseudonym of award-winning writer Traci Lambrecht, who originally co-authored the Monkeewrench series with her late mother, P.J. Lambrecht. Together, they won the Anthony, Barry, Gumshoe, and Minnesota Book Awards and built a global following for their gripping cyberthrillers. Traci has continued the series solo with titles like “The Guilty Dead” and “Ice Cold Heart,” and also launched the critically acclaimed “Detective Margaret Nolan” series.

Now based in Minnesota, Traci reflects on the importance of literary events like this one: “I love Prescott. I love library events—they’ve been such an important part of my life and growth as a young writer.”

Don’t miss this rare chance to meet one of today’s top mystery writers in person, hear about her writing process, and dive into the world of “The Deepest Cut” before its release in September 2025.
