Bonnie J. Peterson, of Ellsworth, died Saturday, June 28, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Methodist Campus, on her 79th birthday. Bonnie was born in Red Wing, MN, to Clarence and Inez (Halverson) Diercks and grew up in Hager City, Wisconsin. She graduated from Ellsworth High School, class of 1964. On Oct. 19, 1968, she married Raynold Peterson at the United Methodist Church. Together they had two sons, Tony and Terry. Bonnie worked at the Farmer’s Store in Red Wing, Foley Wood in Ellsworth and QMR in River Falls. She was also active at the Ellsworth Senior Center. Bonnie was always willing to help others and without being asked, she would step up and help, as she often would at Broze Bar during senior meals. If you knew Bonnie, you knew where you stood with her, she was a very straight-forward person, and you knew her drink of choice was a Diet Coke and that she had been a Home Interiors fanatic. For many years she and Raynold hosted the popular Trimbelle Old Equipment show at their residence. Ray passed away in 2015. Bonnie kept busy doing jigsaw puzzles with her friend Karen, watching the birds and monitoring and regulating the rodent population around her property. She always had time for her family and loved them all very much.
She is survived by her sons, Tony (Sina) and Todd (DeAnn) Peterson both of Ellsworth; grandchildren, Bryn and Jayla Peterson and Anissa Cole and a special nephew, Zack Peterson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raynold; brother, Stanley (Joyce) Diercks and sister, Lois Adams.
