lis. He also said Rogers told him that they were in Maiden Rock to clean out her ex-boyfriend’s dad’s house. He told police Rogers had accessed the home through a window.
While police spoke with Haring, Rogers had become combative and verbally abusive toward officers. She screamed and swore and eventually tried to jump off a small ledge. After she was placed in a squad, she was reportedly screaming uncontrollably and rocking the squad. She somehow turned in the seat and was able to kick the window of the squad until it shattered. The woman was placed in another squad and her feet restrained so she couldn’t kick out another window. While trying to get her in the second vehicle, an officer had to deploy his Taser after several warnings to comply with commands.
While being transported to the jail, Rogers threatened to shoot the officer several times; she also claimed the Minneapolis mayor is her cousin. She accused officers multiple times of inappropriate touching and refused to cooperate.
Neighbors had contacted the homeowner, who was coming home from the hospital. When he arrived at home, he found several of his items in Rogers’ vehicle. He said he knew Rogers, but that she didn’t have permission to be at his house.
Haring denied taking anything out of the house. He told police he had met Rogers in the Cities where he was sitting on the side of the road with a sign. He was also placed under arrest. On Aug. 11, he posted a $10,000 signature bond on a felony burglary – building or dwelling charge (as party to a crime).
Rogers and Haring are scheduled to appear in Pierce County Circuit Court for a preliminary hearing Oct. 7.
