Newly installed officers held items respective to each office including a gavel for President Mya Petersen, 4-H Newsletter for Vice President Nevaeh Peters, Secretary's Book for Linnea Sears, checkbook for Treasurer Fallon Brenner, and newspaper for Reporter Grace Turvaville.

As a suitable end to National 4-H Week, the Busy Fingers 4-H Club held their Annual Achievement Banquet Sunday, Oct. 13. We began with a welcome and invocation by club leader Shari Turvaville. We ate dinner and then began the program with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Coralaine Berg followed by the 4-H pledge. The flags were held by Coralaine Berg and Tristan Field. Olivia Martin held the words to the 4-H pledge. The flashback, which is a summary of everything our club did in the past year, was read by Secretary Grace Turvaville and Reporter Neveah Peters.

County Project Award winners, Mya Petersen - Family Lifestyle, Jocelyn Boyle - Youth Leadership, Horse - Quinn Emery, and Joy Turvaville - Herpetology, were recognized and awarded project pins. First year members, Grace Baker, Coralaine Berg, Fallon Brenner, Tristan Field, Rosemary Husby, Austin Martin, Lillian Martin, Olivia Martin, and Mariella Petersen, were acknowledged. Members receiving five year pins were Scarlet Gadient, Max Mandelkow, and Reese Mandelkow. Jocelyn Boyle, Joe Emery, Maleah Petersen, Mason Petersen, and Mya Petersen all received their pin for achieving in 4-H for 10 years. Graduating members Jocelyn Boyle, Joy Turvaville, and Quinn Emery received their alumni pins.

Grace Turvaville received a certificate for perfect attendance. Reese and Max Mandelkow received a certificate and gummy worms as a prize for the Early Bird Award. They were the first to turn in their completed 4-H record books, and as we all know, the early bird gets the worm.

Members with the Best Record Books were Jocelyn Boyle, Joy Turvaville, Grace Turvaville, and Neveah Peters. Honorable Mention Best Record Book went to Skyler Johnson, Reese Mandelkow, Samantha Augustine, and Max Mandelkow. The Big “E” Award for being the editor of the Best 4-H Activity Story went to Joy Turvaville and Jocelyn Boyle. The Honorable Mention Big “E” went to Grace Turvaville.

The Cloverbuds were recognized and then Member Achievement Certificates were handed out to all 2023-24 achieving club members for the number of years that they have been enrolled and successfully achieved in 4-H! Our new club officers for the 2023-24 4-H Club year were then installed. They are President Mya Petersen, Vice President Neveah Peters, Secretary Linnea Sears, Treasurer Fallon Brenner, and Reporter Grace Turvaville. Enrolled adult volunteers were also recognized for their service to our club and county.

The evening concluded with announcements and decisions including upcoming events including County Awards Day next Sunday, Oct. 20, Volleyball tournament Oct. 27 with pumpkin carving and deliver to follow, and our next meeting will be pushed back to the third Sunday of next month, Nov. 17 due to the Ellsworth High School Musical taking place the second Sunday.
