Campus news: Honoring Pierce County college students

CROOKSTON, Minn. – Alyssa Darland, River Falls, was named to the Fall 2025 Dean’s List at the University of Minnesota Crookston, released by the Office of the Registrar. To qualify for the Dean's List, students must complete 12 or more letter-graded (A-F) credits while attaining a 3.66 grade point average. 

Darland is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in marketing.

Iowa State University

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State University awarded degrees to 1,751 graduates this fall. Graduate and undergraduate commencement ceremonies were held Dec. 19-20 at Hilton Coliseum. The following are graduates from the Pierce County area:

Ellsworth: Austin Richard Brand, Bachelor of Science, Agronomy, B.S., Cum Laude
River Falls: Jacob Sammon, Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering, B.S.


UW-Stevens Point

STEVENS POINT - The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point honored more than 2,872 undergraduate students for attaining high grade point averages during the fall semester of the 2025-2026 academic year.

Full-time undergraduates who earned grade points of 3.90 to 4.0 (4.0 equals straight A) are given the highest honors designation.  High honor citations go to those with grade point averages from 3.75 to 3.89 and honor recognition is accorded to those with grade point averages from 3.50 to 3.74.

Personalized certificates of scholastic achievement are sent to those who earned highest honors distinction.

Students who received honors include:

Ellsworth: Autumn Kirchoff, Highest Honors; Mya Petersen, Highest Honors
Hager City: Quinn Emery, High Honors
Prescott: Myah Miller, Highest Honors
River Falls: Jonas Longsdorf, Highest Honors; Emily Odegard, Highest Honors; Connor Rude, High Honors
Wilson: Savanna Millermon, Highest Honors


St. Cloud State University

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - St. Cloud State University has announced the names of more than 1,142 students whose academic achievement placed them on the 2025 fall semester dean's list. To be eligible for the honor, students must have a grade point average of 3.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

Alexander Miller, River Falls, was named to the dean’s list. He is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the College of Science and Engineering.
