Book Club, 5:30 p.m., Elmwood Public Library (111 N. Main St.) We will discuss “The Night She Disappeared” by Lisa Jewell.

SCV Genealogical Society, 7 p.m., First National Bank of River Falls meeting room (104 E. Locust St., River Falls). Lois Abromitis Mackin will present “Beginning Genealogy Research, describing five steps for beginning and continuing genealogical research and how and where to research. The meeting is open to the public. A Zoom link will be sent to SCVGS members for a virtual option. Contact Darcy at 715-307-5149 with questions.

 

Friday, March 17

St. Patrick’s Day Potato Soup Crawl, 1-5 p.m., River Falls. Try a minimum of 10 soups at River Falls business, vote on your favorite three and enter a drawing for local gift cards. Donate a non-perishable food item at Veterans Park for a chance to win one of eight $25 gift cards. Drawings are at Veterans Park at 6 p.m. Must be present to win.

 

Saturday, March 18

St. Patrick’s Day Parade, 4 p.m., Elmwood. All are welcome to participate. Wear your green and meet at the south end of Main Street.

Thursday, March 16-Sunday, March 19

Four Weddings & An Elvis, The Old Ptacek’s Event Center (1449 Orrin Road, Prescott). The Great River Road Theatre will perform at 7 p.m., preceded by a buffet dinner at 6 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Performance begins at 1 p.m. Sunday, preceded by lunch at noon. Friday, March 17

Elvis Dinner Show, 5 p.m., RF Moose Lodge (620 Clark St., River Falls). Featuring Elvis tribute artist Tony Rocker and dinner (corned beef, red potatoes, cabbage, carrots and dessert). Tickets are $30. Reserve your seat by calling Kenneye at 651-260-7390.

E-Town Arts Mural Walk Fundraiser, E-Town Collaborative (259 N. Broadway, Ellsworth). The youth art gallery fundraiser featuring student artworks will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $5 (students are free). Stop in to support the next East End mural; 50/50 and other raffles as well.

Cocoa & Conversation, 2 p.m., Prescott Public Library (800 Borner St. N.) Do you need some down time? Stop in for a hot beverage, music and conversation. Connect with friends and community members during this bi-weekly program (previously “Adult Coloring.”)

Community Meal, 5-6:30 p.m., St. Paul’s United Church of Christ (W5706 Highway 72, Ellsworth). The Random Acts of Kindness team invites you to come as you are for a free meal. Stay and hang out while you enjoy your meal or take it to go.

Sheet Pan Meals Class, 6 p.m., Plum City Schools. Community Education will host a sheet pan cooking class. Attendees will prepare a number of meals. Cost is $15. Please register by March 17 at 715-647-2591 or outreach@plumcity.k12.wi.us

Skywarn Spotter Training, 7 p.m., Elmwood Fire/EMS (225 N. Woodworth St., Elmwood). Free class hosted by National Weather Service. Learn how to spot and identify different types of severe weather. Free and open to the public.

The Drowsy Chaperone, Prescott High School Auditorium (1010 Dexter St.) The PHS drama department will perform one show-stopping song and dance number atter another in this Tony award-winning musical. Partner Euchre Tournament/Meat & Pie Raffle, 2 p.m., El Paso Bar & Grill (W4277 County Road G, Ellsworth). Join the fun and support the El Paso Community Club Crisis Fund. $10 per team; no sign up required with 50% payback/50% to the crisis fund.

History Club, 2 p.m., Elmwood Public Library (111 N. Main St.) Pierce County Historical Association and local libraries are bringing local history lovers together to increase appreciation for local history. The group will lead and contribute to local projects in their own community. Each meeting will start with a Show & Tell. Bring a family or town photo, heirloom, tell a story or share a memory. Julie Huebel will also bring a local item from the PCHA archives to show.

St. Francis School of Rock Gala, 5-9 p.m., St. Francis School (244 W. Woodworth St., Ellsworth). Celebrate the school’s 75th anniversary with dueling pianos featuring Piano Men Trey Grimm and Dan Satterburg. Doors open at 5 p.m. for an evening of live music, dining, raffles, games, silent and live auctions, and a moving pledge. Dress the theme in distressed denim, leather jackets and rock T-shirts. Proceeds will be used to help sustain the viability of the school.

Wednesday, April 19

Elmwood PTO School Carnival, 5-7:30 p.m., Wolf Den Gym (213 S. Scott St., Elmwood). Bounce house, cake walk, games, prizes, food, henna artist, raffle baskets and more. Elementary kids must be accompanied by an adult. 

Saturday, April 22

Earth Fest 2023, noon to 4 p.m., Glen Park (355 Park St., River Falls). A free community celebration of the past, present and future sustainability efforts in River Falls and the surrounding area. This family-friendly event includes live music, fun family activities, food sampling, a sustainability and wellness fair, free giveaways and more.
