SPRING VALLEY – The Community Choir returns to the Stagehands Theatre for a very special performance of Peace in the Valley, a concert of favorite hymns.
Community Choir Director Cindy Kongshaug notes that the choir performed a similar concert 10 years ago and audience members have requested the choir to do a reprise.
“I have sang these songs since I was a young girl; on Easter, at funerals, and as inspiration for my daily life,” said Kongshaug. “Some are very meaningful to me in other ways; my mother’s favorite, ‘Suppertime,’ and my husband Rodney’s favorite, ‘Be Still My Soul,’ are really special; as is my personal favorite, ‘How Great Thou Art.’”
The Community Choir will be joined on some songs by musicians from Trigger Happy, the Kingston Trio, and the White Sidewalls; and these musicians will also perform some songs on their own.
The concert will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students, and are available now at www.svstagehands.org If available, tickets can also be purchased at the door prior to the performance.
