Initial appearances Lilia Harina Gualain, 27, River Falls, pleaded not guilty and posted a $500 signature bond on an operate without valid license (second within three years) charge Jan. 3. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for 10 a.m. Feb. 8.

Christopher Francis Kroyer, 35, River Falls, posted a $2,500 signature bond Jan. 3 on felony bail jumping, felony possession of THC (second+ offense) and possess drug paraphernalia charges. A preliminary hearing is slated for 1 p.m. Feb. 7.

Hawkens Nathaniel Loomis, 35, River Falls, pleaded not guilty and posted a $1,000 signature bond on an operate without valid license (second within three years) charge Jan. 3. A pre-trial conference is set for 1:30 p.m. Feb. 14.

Dillan Lee Smith, 25, Chippewa Falls, pleaded not guilty and posted a $500 signature bond on an operating while revoked (alcohol related) charge Jan. 3. A pre-trial conference is slated for 10:30 a.m. Feb. 8.

Winona R. Wells, 33, Welch, Minn., pleaded not guilty and posted a $2,500 signature bond on disorderly conduct (repeater) and violate/harassment restraining order – injunction (repeater) charges Dec. 29. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. Jan. 28.

Nichelle I. Wierson, 39, Prescott, posted a $5,000 signature bond Jan. 3 on felony possession of methamphetamine, OWI (first with passenger under 16 years old), operate with restricted controlled substance (first with minor passenger under 16) and possess/illegally obtained prescription charges. A preliminary hearing is slated for 2 p.m. Feb. 8.

Missed appearances Alexzander X. Gonzales, 19, Willmar, Minn., failed to make an initial appearance on a disorderly conduct charge Jan. 3. A bench warrant was issued.

Eric Andrew Hanson, 35, Hastings, Minn., failed to make an initial appearance Jan. 3 on an operate without valid license (second within three years) charges Jan. 3. An arrest warrant was issued.

Christopher Patrick Paar,

34, Baldwin, failed to appear for a status conference on a felony possession of methamphetamine charge Dec. 30. A bench warrant was issued.

Ross Charles Raven, 25, St. Croix Beach, Minn., failed to make an initial appearance Jan. 4 on disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property charges. A bench warrant was issued.

Crystal Carol Swanson,

27, Red Wing, Minn., failed to appear for a status conference on an operating while revoked charge Jan. 3. A bench warrant was issued.

Daniel Chase Zelm, 39, Menomonie, failed to appear at a status conference on an operating while revoked (alcohol related) charge Jan. 4. A bench warrant was issued.

Closed cases Shannon Jane Bien, 35, Boyceville, was convicted of felony possess with intent – amphetamine (as party to a crime), sentenced to eight years in prison (stayed) and three years’ probation and fined $518 Jan. 3. The charge resulted from a Nov. 20, 2019 incident.

Felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of THC and possess drug paraphernalia charges against Kyle Andrew Bistodeau, 29, River Falls, were dismissed Jan. 3 upon completion of a deferred judgment of conviction agreement. The charges stemmed from a Feb. 15, 2020 incident.

A domestic disorderly conduct charge against Steven Joe Brake, 39, North Branch, Minn., was dismissed Jan. 3 upon completion of a deferred judgment of conviction agreement. The charge resulted from an Aug. 2, 2019 incident.

Nicolas Rae Cox, 34, River Falls, was convicted of disorderly conduct (domestic abuse), sentenced to one year’s probation and fined $543 Jan. 3. The charge stemmed from a Dec. 15, 2020 incident.

Douglas J. Hanken, 27, Chippewa Falls, was convicted of felony arson of building without owner’s consent Oct. 15, and sentenced to four years in prison followed by four years’ extended supervision and fined $518 Jan. 3. Restitution will be determined at a hearing at a later date. A felony burglary – building/dwelling charge was dismissed Oct. 15. The charges resulted from an Aug. 21, 2020 incident in Prescott.

Nicole Katherine Hanson,

23, Menomonie, was convicted of disorderly conduct and fined $277.80 Jan. 3. The charge stemmed from a March 26, 2020 incident.

A violate foreign protection order charge against David Devor Harris, 27, Apple Valley, Minn., was dismissed Jan. 3 upon completion of a deferred judgment of conviction agreement. The charge resulted from a Jan. 11, 2021 incident.

A criminal damage to property charge against Brooklyn Louise McCabe, 24, Maiden Rock, was dismissed Jan. 3 upon completion of a deferred judgment of conviction agreement. The charge stemmed from an April 5, 2020 incident.

A battery charge against Jason John Perez, 44, last known address Side Lake, Minn., was dismissed Dec. 29. The charge resulted from an Oct. 20, 2001 incident.

Michael Joseph Shannon,

40, Prescott, was convicted of disorderly conduct and fined $277.80 Jan. 3. Battery (domestic abuse) and intimidate victim/dissuade reporting charges were dismissed. The charges stemmed from a May 29 incident.

Sean Michael Sloane, 29, Cottage Grove, Minn., was convicted of operate without carrying a license and fined $150.10 Jan. 3. The charge resulted from a May 18 traffic stop.
