Initial appearances Bruce Jeffery Bakken, 44, Ellsworth, posted a $300 signature bond Aug. 17 on an operate without valid license (second within three years) charges. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Sept. 15.

Charles T. Barbee Jr., 21, River Falls, was ordered to pay $10,000 cash bail on felony firstdegree recklessly endangering safety (use of a dangerous weapon, violent crime in a school zone), felony bail jumping, disorderly conduct (use of a dangerous weapon) and two misdemeanor bail jumping charges Aug. 16. A preliminary hearing is set for 2 p.m. Aug. 24.

Colleen Elizabeth Crawford, 62, Minneapolis, posted a $10,000 signature bond Aug. 16 on felony bail jumping, felony possession of methamphetamine and possess drug paraphernalia charges. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 4 p.m. Aug. 31.

Blake Edward Deal, 40, River Falls, pleaded not guilty and posted a $1,000 signature bond on criminal damage to property and possess drug paraphernalia charges Aug. 13. A pretrial conference is set for 11 a.m. Oct. 6.

Gene Edward Haring, 56, Minneapolis, posted a $10,000 signature bond Aug. 11 on a felony burglary – building/dwelling (as party to a crime) charge. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Oct. 7.

Jarques T. Jackson, 23, River Falls, was ordered to pay $25,000 cash bail on felony attempt first-degree reckless homicide (use of a dangerous weapon, violent crime in a school zone), felony first-degree recklessly endangering safety (use of a dangerous weapon, violent crime in a school zone), felony possess firearm – convicted of a felony and disorderly conduct (use of a dangerous weapon) charges Aug. 16. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Aug. 24.

Jevon Henry Jackson, 48, River Falls, posted $10,000 cash bond Aug. 18 on felony attempt first-degree reckless homicide (use of a dangerous weapon, violent crime in a school zone), felony first-degree recklessly endangering safety (use of a dangerous weapon, violent crime in a school zone) and disorderly conduct (use of a dangerous weapon) charges, all with the “as party to a crime” modifier. A preliminary hearing is set for 2:30 p.m. Aug. 24.

Matthew Abraham Khoroosi, 34, Superior, posted a $10,000 signature bond Aug. 16 on felony possession of methamphetamine and possess drug paraphernalia charges. A preliminary hearing is set for 2:30 p.m. Aug. 31.

Danielle Rae Rogers, 46, Minneapolis, posted a $10,000 signature bond Aug. 11 on felony burglary – building/dwelling, felony battery or threat to judge, prosecutor or law enforcement officer and criminal damage to property. A preliminary hearing is scheduled at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 7.

Michael Charles Schlinsky, 35, River Falls, posted a $10,000 signature bond Aug. 16 on battery (use of a dangerous weapon, repeater) and disorderly conduct (use of a dangerous weapon, repeater). A status conference is set for 2:30 p.m. Sept. 16.

Jess Steven Schmidt, 39, Hager City, posted a $10,00 signature bond Aug. 17 on take/drive vehicle without consent – abandon vehicle and disorderly conduct (domestic abuse) charges. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for 10 a.m. Sept. 16.

Terrence L. Stephney, 40, River Falls, waived extradition Aug. 16.

Jeffrey Bryan Sympson, 40, Bay City, waived extradition to Goodhue County, Minn., on Aug. 11.

Brendan James Tape, 37, Ellsworth, was ordered to pay $150 cash bail on resisting or obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct (domestic abuse) charges Aug. 16.

Ryan Douglas Wetteland, 33, Minneapolis, posted a $10,000 signature bond Aug. 17 on a neglecting a child (specified harm did not occur) charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. Sept. 16.

Amanda Kristine Ziebarth, 32, River Falls, posted a $10,000 signature bond on a felony bail jumping charge Aug. 12. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Aug. 23.

Closed cases

A contempt of court/disobey order charge against Chandra Helton, 23, River Falls, was dismissed Aug. 17. The charge was filed March 5. Helton also pleaded guilty to and entered into a deferred judgment of conviction agreement on a felony neglecting a child (harm did not occur and child under 6 years or disability) charge. That charge was filed Jan. 7.

Christopher Michael Kirchner, 40, Ellsworth, was sentenced to 40 years in prison (25 years initial confinement, 15 years extended supervision), fined $2,737.68, ordered to pay $134.25 in restitution (plus a 10 percent surcharge) and ordered to comply with the sex offender registry Aug. 16. Kirchner was convicted May 21 of felony second degree sexual assault of child, felony second degree sexual assault/use of force, felony incest of child, felony intimidate victim/use or attempt force, and felony strangulation and suffocation charges (all with the lifetime supervision of serious sex offenders modifier). The charges were filed Dec. 17, 2019.

Angela Jo Weatherford, 47, Pine Island, Minn., was convicted of disorderly conduct and fined $443 Aug. 17. The charge was filed Jan. 24, 2020.
