Initial appearances Richard E. Carr, 31, Stillwater Prison, Bayport, Minn., was ordered to pay $500 cash bond on felony burglary – building or dwelling and felony take and drive vehicle without consent charges July 12. Apreliminary hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. Aug. 4.

Timothy Adam Chambers, 22, Prescott, posted a $5,000 signature bond on a felony take and drive vehicle without consent charge July 12. A preliminary hearing is set for 10:30 a.m. Aug. 26.

Melissa Ann Remington, 40, Prescott, pleaded innocent and posted a $1,000 signature bond on a disorderly conduct charge July 12. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Sept. 8.

Justin Ryan Baniaga Lapitan, 30, St. Paul, pleaded innocent and posted a $10,000 signature bond on misdemeanor bail jumping and violate/ harassment restraining order – injunction charges July 14. A status conference is set for 8:30 a.m. Oct. 6.

Tanner M. Marko, 26, Eagan, Minn., pleaded innocent and posted a $10,000 signature bond on misdemeanor bail jumping and operating while revoked (alcohol related) charges July 12. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Aug. 12.

Closed cases Justin Brian Andel, 34, Hastings, Minn., was convicted of battery (domestic abuse), sentenced to two years of probation and fined $543 on July 14. Disorderly conduct (domestic abuse), misdemeanor bail jumping and knowingly violate a domestic abuse order – temporary restraining order charges were dismissed. The charges were filed Dec. 3 and 11, 2020.

Mitchell Sheldon Johnson, 31, Ellsworth, was convicted of disorderly conduct and fined $443 July 14. A second disorderly conduct charge was dismissed. The charges were filed Feb. 23.

A theft – movable property charge against

Joshua Michael Jones, 39, St. Paul, was dismissed July 15 after $1,452.33 in restitution was paid. A deferred judgment of conviction agreement was revoked July 1, but the charge dismissed once restitution was paid. The charge was filed Sept. 6, 2018.

Christopher Richard Princko, 51, Elmwood, was convicted of criminal damage to property and two battery charges, sentenced to two years of probation, ordered to write an apology letter and pay $58 in restitution (plus 10 percent surcharge), and fined $1,329 July 13. Misdemeanor bail jumping and two disorderly conduct charges were dismissed. The charges were filed May 1, 2020 and Jan. 20, 2021.

Nathan R. Schmitz, 21, New Richmond, was convicted of disorderly conduct and misdemeanor bail jumping, sentenced to one year of probation and fined $886 July 16. A possession of cocaine/coca charge was read-in but dismissed. The charges were filed June 22, 2017 and Feb. 13, 2018.

Stephanee Jean Ward, 29, Ellsworth, was convicted of neglecting a child (specified harm did not occur) and fined $267 July 16. A neglecting a child (specified harm did not occur) charge was read-in but dismissed. The charges were filed Feb. 16.

Deferred cases John Wayne Armstrong, 76, River Falls, was convicted of two lewd and lascivious behavior – in public charges and fined $886 July 14. He pleaded guilty to and entered a deferred judgment of conviction agreement on an exposing genitals/pubic area/intimate parts to a child charge. Two child enticement – expose genitals/ pubic area/intimate parts (lifetime supervision of serious sex offenders) charges and one exposing genitals/pubic area/intimate parts to a child charge were dismissed.
