The Ellsworth boys cross country team ran hard to a third place finish at the New Richmond Invitational Saturday morning.
Alex Pazdernik again paced the effort for the Panthers, taking sixth overall at the meet in 17:05, while Addison Peters was right behind at eighth place in 17:09.5.
New Richmond won its invite, followed by Osceola. Trailing Ellsworth was Amery, Prescott and Somerset.
For Ellsworth, Kohl Flock took 19th in 18:07.3, followed by John Gillespie, 25th and Roy Roberts in 26th. Carsen Stockwell was 36th and Jasper Knutson was 42nd.
Prescott’s top performer was Tyler Loucks, who took ninth overall in 17:17.5, followed by Breckin Schommer 20th, Connor Lubich 29th, Jake Hamann 30th, Logan Stewart 33rd, Oscar Deutsch 38th and Damion Huppert 41st.
In the girls race, Ellsworth took sixth and Prescott was seventh.
The Panthers were led by Aubrey Wittenberg, who took 9th overall in 21:46.4. She was followed by Cece Groh in 20th, Sophie Vogel 29th, Jocelyn Boyle 34th, Ann Lundstrom 35th, Jolene Schultz 37th and Chloe Vanwatermeulen 39th. Ava Budworth took 24th as Prescott’s top runner, finishing in 22:40.2. Alee Warp took 28th, while Kira Penk was 33rd, Jessie Urman took 41st, Mallory Boles was 42nd, Elsie Dempsey-Rice was 46th and Sehlby Sizemore was 47th.
Ellsworth and Prescott will compete Tuesday in Amery at the Middle Border Conference Meet.
