EAU CLAIRE — People interested in sprucing up their yards, or even those considering starting a landscaping business, can learn the basics in courses coming up at Chippewa Valley Technical College.
Landscape Installation starts June 1 and Landscape Maintenance begins in September. Landscape Installations will be taught in five sessions of 2-6 hours in duration on Tuesdays, Fridays or Saturdays.
The first three sessions cover “hardscapes” – the tools, materials, planning, installation and finishing of features such as concrete or stone pavers and walls. The last two “softscape” sessions cover topics such as edging, mulch, plants and trees, and other ornaments.
The Landscape Maintenance class includes classroom and handson outdoor sessions at job sites and covers the basics of tools, equipment and procedures of maintaining landscaping features.
All sessions are taught by professionals working in the field today. Each class is one credit at a cost of $153 each. For more information or to register, go to cvtc.ecu/LandscapeBasics or call 715833-6300.
