TOWN OF DIAMOND BLUFF – A Hager City man died last Wednesday after his Bobcat skid steer was struck by a train.
Police were dispatched at 11:28 a.m. Oct. 29 to State Road 35 and County Road OO in the town of Diamond Bluff, where they determined a Bobcat skid steer, operated by 72-year-old Randy Anderson was attempting to cross a private railroad crossing while heading eastbound when a BNSF train traveling southbound struck him.
The Pierce County Medical Examiner pronounced him dead at the scene. Red Wing Fire and EMS, Ellsworth Fire and Life Link III Helicopter also assisted at the scene.
Tincher crash
Pierce County deputies were dispatched at 5:40 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24 to a single motor vehicle crash with injury on State Road 35 near County Road VV in Trenton township. A 2021 International semi, operated by Dillon Tincher, 24, Pikeville, Tenn., was traveling northbound when it lost control, entered the ditch and struck a tree. Red Wing EMS transported Tincher to Red Wing Mayo Hospital with undisclosed injures. Red Wing Fire and Ellsworth Fire also assisted at the scene. Photo courtesy of PCSO
Griffin Olafson
Pierce County officers were called at 8:08 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27 to a two-vehicle crash with injuries on County Road V at County Road C in Hartland township. A 2013 Honda Odyssey, driven by Deborah Griffin, 69, Hudson, was traveling south on 690th Street when she collided with a 2019 Ford Fusion, driven by Patricia Olafson, 68, Bay City, who was heading westbound on County Road V. Ellsworth Ambulance Service transported Griffin to Mayo Red Wing Hospital with undisclosed injuries. Life Link Helicopter transported Olafson to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with suspected serious injuries. Ellsworth police and fire departments and Wisconsin DNR also assisted at the scene.
