Eagle Watch Bike Tour set for May 8

PRESCOTT – The inaugural Eagle Watch Bike Tour, a family friendly bike event on the Point Douglas Trail, will take place Saturday, May 8.

The Point Douglas Trail is a unique biking trail along the Mississippi River that connects Hastings, Minn. and Prescott, Wis. That is 11 miles round-trip. Enjoy biking, spotting eagles and exploring two historic downtowns.

You can register for one of four time slots from 8 a.m. to noon on the day of the event. Check-in points are the Clocktower at 23 Broad St., Prescott, or the Confluence deck at 200 Second St. W., Hastings. d Before and after the ride, participants are encouraged to explore Hastings and Prescott for lunch specials, shopping discounts and nature programs provided by the Carpenter Nature Center, who will be stationed at each starting point.

There are trail options for all skill levels. Check out the bike map to decide which trail you’d like to explore and keep an eye out for eagle nests along the way.

This event is hosted by The Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce & The Prescott Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Carpenter Nature Center, the City of Hastings and Great River Road Visitors and Learning Center at Freedom Park.
