1925-2020
Edwin Emil Sjostrom was called to his heavenly home on August 28,2020 with his family by his side.
He was born at their home in rural Maiden Rock to Emil and Mary Sjostrom on June 25, 1925. He graduated from the Maiden Rock School in 1943. He farmed the family farm where he lived his entire life. On June 10,1953 he married Merle Muhlhausen at the Little Brown Church, Iowa. Ed drove school bus for 27 years and worked for the Maiden Rock and Ellsworth Community Schools as custodian. He was an active member of the Maiden Rock Methodist church, the Maiden Rock Community Association, and the Mississippi Bluffs Historical Chapter. He en- joyed visiting with people, camping, and gardening.
Ed was preceded in death by his beloved wife Merle and sister Grace Johnson.
He is survived by two daughters: Lynette (Joe) Traynor, Maiden Rock, and Laurie (Douglas) Schmidt, La Crosse, and one son, Douglas (Kim) of Maiden Rock, 10 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and two special nieces, Harriet Rothe, Plum City; and Barbara Sand, Red Wing.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at the family farm, for the family. All memorials will go to Mayo Hospice or the Pierce County Food Bank.
The Cremation Society of Wisconsin is assisting the family.
