ELLSWORTH – The Ellsworth Senior Center is proud to welcome Ellsworth High School alumnus and debut author Dan Goodier as the special guest speaker at this month's Discover Together Tuesday event. The program will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 10 at the Ellsworth Senior Center, located within English Lutheran Church.

Goodier, a retired CEO of a nonprofit senior healthcare and housing organization, will discuss his journey from executive leadership to published author. After stepping away from his professional career in 2021, he turned his focus to a long-shelved manuscript he had written on and off over the years. Two years—and a wealth of learning later—that manuscript became Sounds of a Distant Train, his first novel.

A heartfelt and reflective storyteller, Goodier now splits his time between Hudson and a lake house near St. Croix Falls with his wife, Susie. Together, they enjoy the joy and creativity their grandchildren bring to their lives—through music, dance, and art. As Goodier shares in his book, “love is the truest measure of wealth that we know.”

This special event offers a unique opportunity to hear firsthand about Goodier’s transition from boardroom-to-book tour, and the inspirations behind his novel. All ages are invited to attend this inspiring conversation about life’s second chapters and the power of storytelling.

A complimentary meal will be served following the program, generously provided by the Ellsworth Senior Center and Friends of the Ellsworth Public Library.

Don't miss this opportunity to connect, reflect, and celebrate the power of new beginnings.
