Ellsworth boys, Prescott girls win May 13 meet

The Ellsworth boys track team edged out Prescott to win its four-team meet Thursday afternoon, while the Cardinals were the elite team in the girls’ competition.

The weather was beautiful, and there was a big crowd on hand for the event, as parents and fans were eager to get outside and watch the young athletes participate.

The Ellsworth boys and Prescott girls each won nine events en route to number one on the day.

In the boys’ meet, Ellsworth finished with 88.5 team points, with the Cardinals second at 65.5. Amery and Somerset with third and fourth, respectively, with 59 and

57 points. For the girls, Prescott dominated with 108 points, followed by Amery

65, Ellsworth 52 and Somerset 41.

100-Meter Dash

Ellsworth – Max Grand first in 11.23.

Prescott – Josh Gergen second in 11.74, Andrew Lee fourth in 12.04.

200-Meter Dash Ellsworth – Shane Lange first in 24.03.

Prescott – Gergen second in 24.16, Lee third in 24.84 and Damion Huppert fifth in

25.17.

400-Meter Dash Prescott – Dylan Bierbauer third in

57.16, Logan Stewart fourth in 57.26 and Dominick Shelstad fifth in 58.41.

800-Meter Run Ellsworth – Wyatt Blomberg first in

2:10.6, and Roy Roberts fourth in 2:24.18.

Prescott – Ryan Zerneke second in

2:11.98, and Eric Korfhage third in

2:17.79.

1,600-Meter Run Ellsworth – Kohl Flock won the event in 5:01.14. Roberts was third in 5:11.90, and Addison Peters was fifth in 5:31.84.

Prescott – Tyler Loucks took second in

5:01.81, and Matthew Lynes was fourth in

5:14.55.

3,200-Meter Run Ellsworth – Alex Pazdernik won in

10:32.77, and Peters was third in 11:46.23.

110-Meter Hurdles Ellsworth – Bo Hines was second in

18.26.

300-Meter Hurdles Ellsworth – Jason Knutson won in

Prescott – Matthew Lynes was third at 8-06.00. Ellsworth – Braden Matzek took fifth at 8-06.00.

Ellsworth – Kyle Kressin took third at 100-00.0, and Owen Bee took fifth at 77-03.0.

200-Meter Dash Prescott – The Cardinals swept the top three spots, with Abby Syverson first in 26.47, Carlson second in 27.12 and Tori Benck third at 27.62.

Ellsworth – Chloe VanWatermeulen was fifth in 29.62.

400-Meter Dash Prescott – Ella Johnson won in 1:05.61, and Ava Budworth was fifth in 1:08.16.

Ellsworth – VanWatermeulen took second in 1:06.38, just ahead of Kayla Kressin, who took third in 1:07.41.

800-Meter Run Prescott – Maddie Matzek took second in 2:31.34, and Faith Van Holbeck was fourth in 2:54.26.

Ellsworth – Cece Groh took fifth in 2:55.87.

1,600-Meter Run Prescott – Alee Warp was third in 6:28.68.

Ellsworth – Sophie Vogel was fourth in 6:47.10, and Ann Lundstrom took fifth in 6:53.29.

3,200-Meter Run Prescott – Amanda Auleciems took second in 12:59.90, and Warp was third in 14:48.85.

100-Meter Hurdles Prescott – Shelby Sizemore won in 18.81, while Grace Gale was fifth in 21.60.

Ellsworth – Corynn Jahnke took third in 20.57.

300-Meter Hurdles Prescott – Jessie Urman (54.27) was third, Sophie Ripley (55.78) was fourth and Sizemore (55.90) was fifth.

Relays

Prescott won the 300, 1,600 and 3,200-meter relays, with Ellsworth as runners-up. The Panthers won the 800-meter relay, with the Cardinals in second.

Prescott – Benck was fourth at 4-04.00. Ellsworth – VanWatermeulen was fifth at 4-04.00.

Long Jump

Ellsworth – Hayley Bach won the event at 14-10.00, and Peterson was fifth at 13-02.00.

Prescott – Benck took second with a jump of 14-05.75, and Kianna Severson took third at 13-08.00.

Triple Jump

Prescott – Sizemore took first with a combined jump of 2904.00.

Ellsworth – Whitney Olsen to0ok court at 25-10.00.

Pole Vault

Prescott – Nicole Dalman was third with a throw of 76-07.00, and Mallory Boles was fifth at 71-09.00.

Ellsworth – Trinity Wilkens took 11th at 73.10.00.

Shot Put
