ELLSWORTH – Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery is proud to announce the results of its first Ellsworth Cares initiative, which exceeded its goal and will help provide for families in need across the state.
The Ellsworth Cares initiative incentivized community action with Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery matching each donation of personal items or diapers with a donation of three pounds of cheese to a local food pantry. In this campaign, personal item donations topped 10,852 items, -- resulting in 32,556 pounds of cheese being donated to food pantries throughout Wisconsin.
“Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery is proud to donate over 16 tons of cheese to families in need, and we’re so glad that the community joined us in our mission to fill the shelves of food pantries with the items families need the most,” said Paul Bauer, CEO and General Manager of Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery. “Thank you to everyone in the community and the St. Croix Valley United Way for helping us reach this important milestone.”
Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery is a farmer-owned co-op based in the Cheese Curd Capital of Wisconsin, Ellsworth. For 112 years, their 250 patron family dairy farms and dedicated employees have been proudly producing award-winning cheese curds and artisan cheeses.
